i still really want a new monster hunter to come out in a place other than japan, ive done just about anything i can do in freeedom 2...
Reissued version of Capcom's popular hack-and-slash PSP title to feature new enemies and quests.
TOKYO--At the Tokyo Game Show today, Capcom held a stage presentation to unveil Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. Not quite a full sequel to Monster Hunter Portable 2nd--known as Monster Hunter Freedom 2 in the West--the game is instead an upgraded release that incorporates various new additions and features.
Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto appeared onstage to talk about Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. No screenshots were shown during the presentation, indicating that the game is still in an early stage of development, but Tsujimoto did comment that it should be released "in the not-too-distant future."
Going into a Q&A session with the stage show host, Tsujimoto revealed the first details on Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. "Of course there will be monsters that are new. There's going to be a lot of monsters," the producer noted. In addition to more creatures to kill, the upgraded version will include more adventures to undertake. "There's an additional class of quests called the 'G' class. There's going to be new varieties of quests as well, so please look forward to that too," Tsujimoto said.
Tsujimoto assured players that saved data from Monster Hunter Portable 2nd could be imported to Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, and it will be fully featured, unlike the transition from Monster Hunter Portable to Monster Hunter Portable 2nd. Last but not least, Tsujimoto commented that Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G will include a new system that's never been seen before in the series. Although he didn't elaborate, he hinted that the series' feline mascot, Ailu, might have something to do with it.

This expansion sounds promising. More content huh? Im looking forward to that ^^ ( I was hoping they would make the town larger but .. nvm. ) oO more feline upgrades ! Nice. xD
This really needs to come to the states i mean come on!!! Japan has ALL of them and come on we onley have 3!!! the have MH, MHG, MH2, MHFrontier MHP,MHP2 and soon MH3 while we have MH,MHF,MHF2... and none to record come to us any time soon...i am shure there alot of fans out there who agree with me (come on capcom bring it to the US!!!) Click the thumbs up icon below if you agree that Japan needs to reales more to the contreys (yes i am aware that MHP(2nd) and MHF(2) are the same)
Can we get a lock on please (spare me the excuses fanboys, camera is bad, doable, but bad!), and a NA release too :D I want online as well, gimme online!!!!
Ooo, wow, I can't wait! The first and second ones were awesome! This one should be good with the new things they are adding in.
Anyone who says monster hunter needs lock on can f**k off and die. This game would be completly ruined by lock on, theres too many things happening around you, the lock on would only screw you up. The closest you can get to lock on is to paintball or use the ESP skill to see the dragon on your map. Most people don't even need that. Not to mention that when a dragon flys or goes underground it would completly shift the camera to strange angles were you cant see anything else attacking you. Basically if you play the game for a while you will realise its much better off without lock-on so everyone quit complaining.
Monster Hunter rocks when playing multiplayer. You can earn easy money with treasure hunting with your friends which would not get boring quite fast cause you can laugh it in your friends faces! This Game is gonna Rock HARD! This game would ROCK EVEN HARDER IF THEY JUST PUT THE DARN ONLINE FEATURE! Yeah Monster Hunter!
MHF2 is great and all but its just so damn hard, i like the game thats why i try so hard to knock out the monsters but it gets so frustrating when they knock you down plus the damage they do, my defense is over 400 and still the monster still manages to decrease my life by half.. ugh..
Something else I think I'll look forward to for this game is ONLINE play (and don't say Xlink Kai) And a somewhat fixed camera and at least a decent target lock on. I know the game is all about "hardcore!!!" but seriously, I got the first MHF and loved it, but if they added those two things I would probably not be leaving my PSP for a loooong time.
MH is 1 5/10 for 1 player, 9/10 for 2-4 players. Seriously, if you're going to get MH, make sure you're going to play it with someone on a regular basis. It's not amazingly popular in Japan for nothing, forget about ratings, they always rate 1p. 1 player MH sucks really bad.
Still no infrastructure. I'm very disappointed. I love this game but none of my mates like it, so I gotta play it on my own and it's taking so damn long. I don't understand Capcom. This is one of the most successful games on the PSP, why can't they frickin include online!? *sigh*
who care??? you cant beat the games unless you have 1 to 3 other people to join in and help you. single player was a huge flaw in MH1. its 64 times easier if there are 4 players against a monster. 100 times harder if a giant monster keep knock you down and kill you and you couldn`t do anything because you the only one there to fight aginst it in the single player.
will this be coming over the pond??? if it does then I hoe it's next year or around christmas...since I just started playing MHF2!!
yes online is going to have to be a must for this game to really take off state side at all. It might work in japan where every single human being gets together and says " lets all get the same game so theres always people to play against in our sweet city of Tokyo" Around here we dont all do that so we kind of need a more long distance way to play with people. Good stuff tho, i always liked this game i just was never able to get into it as even the PS2 versions never really pushed the online content well.
Sounds like a bit of a cash in to me. I mean if you are going to make another so soon with most of the same content atleast give us an on-line playable mode !
Oh lord..Yes! I cannot wait for another Monster Hunter game..now there needs to be one for the PS3..and I'll be happy forever..
We need MH3 on the PS3. The portable games are good, but they are nothing compared to the console versions.
Although I'm a little surprised, this was very predictable... However, my expectations for MH at TGS were MUCH higher than this... MH3... MHP3... Oh well... I bet it will still be an enjoyable game!
Jeez no online yet? Its strange that the DS has more online games than the PSP...and it was able to play games online first. Bring Monster Hunter online! And with Voice comm!
