I was almost mad they delayed it but then i renembered that i have Fallout New Vegas right now still plagued with bugs. maybe Obsidian Entertainment shoulda have delayed their game to polish it.
Test Drive Unlimited 2 shifts to Q1 2011
Atari pushes back online racer's release; extra time to be used polishing console multiplayer; new beta date to be announced.
After a four-year hiatus, Atari made the surprise announcement in March that it would finally be delivering the long-awaited sequel to 2006's open-world racer Test Drive Unlimited by September this year.
Now, the publisher has revealed that it will be delaying the release of Test Drive Unlimited 2 to Q1 2011. The move was done to provide developer Eden Games more time to polish the game's connected console multiplayer experience.
Eden Games studio manager David Nadal said the extra time will also allow his team to take into account consumer feedback. The game's beta has also been pushed back to coincide with the new release schedule and will be confirmed by Atari in the coming weeks.
As consolation, the publisher announced it will reward gamers already signed up to the beta with an as-yet-unannounced exclusive in-game item.
Test Drive Unlimited 2 will see players racing in locations that include the Spanish party hotspot Ibiza and the paradise island of Oahu from the original title. In addition to new vehicles, race types, and a revamped single-player mode that can be played online or off, the game will give players the chance to build and grow in-game clubs composed of friend networks.
Test Drive Unlimited 2 will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Pfffft!!! I was going to play this till GT5 came out, oh well, probably won't ever be buying this title now...... shame cause I loved the first one....
Come on! I'd rather wait another half year than having a crappy piece of beta-sh*t on my PC! Guys, you all KNOW it's worth the waiting ^^
This sucks. Other than Rock Band 3, this was the game I was most looking forward to for the rest of the year...
so if we don't play halo, call of duty, or Gran Turismo, we're out of luck this fall. I guess Enslaved could be good for a rental...
Damn, my wishlist for the rest of this year keeps getting smaller and smaller every week. Only games left besides FIFA 11 that left on my list is F1 2010 and Fallout: New Vegas.
i think this is great the first tdu mutiplayer was awfull could never connect to mates so thumbs up from me as hopefully this will be greatly improved lets at least have a game that works from day 1
1 GT5 is only PS3 ........ 2 2 game totally different. 3 I prefer TDU 4...... 5A Matter of Taste. 2 Great game

Seriously, these constant delays got old in 2009. 2009 and 2010 are different for a reason. Destroy all fun.

every game is being pushed back cause of call of duty.. 20million in the first week... think about it!!!
Is only about marketing guy's ;) September till November all the greatest game come out like Halo and Fabel on Xbox and GT5 on PS3 :)
ugh i think they were doing just fine with a game. i wish game companies would stick to a deadline and keep it unless a game has major problems which it looks like this one doesnt....hate it when they annouce when a game is coming out only to delay it like ONE month before its supposed to come out........oh well... more time to polish it. the car controlls didnt feel as smooth as they could be in the first one so hopefully they can work on that.
almost all games are delayed for marketing reasons. The people whom they pay to market the game to gain maximum profit. This also gives the devs for more polishing time as well.
why are you all complaining about the game being delayed?? Yeah it kinda sucks, but what do you want...A half finished game??? I think I would rather have a fully finished, fully polished game!

A delay is the last thing we want. If they dont bring it out by March 2011, they can shove the game up their arse!!
I'm not mad because it was delayed, i'm incredibly mad because they waited till 40 days from release date to do it. And now to finish this they will give an exclusive item (i'm specullating it's a car) that very few will have, as if they were the only ones suffering this. To Eden: I know you guys must be working day and night to try and finish the game on time but 60 days should have been the least to push release date. This is disrespectful. I was going to buy the game 5 times to have the DLCs from different stores but you just lost 4 sales cuz i'm spending the money in other games.
Got to say it makes sense... I think it was scheduled to be virtually the same date as the new NFS game... I wanted this for Xmas - but y'know - with DC Online, Reach, Move, etc. I'll be more than occupied!
@RydaR32 Not realy. The reason thay are doing this might be because there are to many other heavy waight titles relesing this fall. Starcraft 2 is out, diablo 3 i dont know when, fall i gues? and Halo: Reach is coming out next mounth. And thats just a few. There are probebly more coming out that i dont know of. But as thay sed. This extra time can be used to make the game beter. Besids there are to many other games coming out so we gamers might be ocupied with them. But i have to admit im disapointed that it got delayed.
stop comparing gt5 to test drive. Gt5 is a simulator, something which test drive is not trying to achieve
I would much prefer them to spend more time if needed to make a great game. As far as GT5 goes, no worries because a lot of the players are split anywase. Some prefer GT5 types of racers, (not me) and others prefer the TDU types.
Bad idea now GT5'S gonna come out and then TDU2 will come out n look rubbish.Should of come out first.
well what e do about it i liked the first one and im ready for the second one as well but it better be in february when it released
