Teenage Zombies gnawing on DS next year
Ignition Entertainment announces the development of Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys for Nintendo's handheld.
Independent developer Ignition Entertainment announced today that it will release a new game, Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys, for the Nintendo DS in spring 2008.
The retro-sci-fi-influenced game, which is currently in development at Canada-based InLight Entertainment, will see players assuming the roles of three zombie teens battling alien invaders who bear more than a passing resemblance to particularly succulent brains. Ironically, the cranium-fancying trio doesn't necessarily know that it's saving the world; they just happen to be overlooking their normal sustenance in favor of new alien prey.
Although the teaser trailer released today gives away very little about the gampeplay behind Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys, Ignition Entertainment has confirmed that the action will primarily be side-scrolling-platformer-flavored, but it will also incorporate stylus-powered minigames, puzzle-solving, and boss battles. Each of the playable zombies will have his or her own unique abilities, and you'll purportedly need to switch between all three of them to make it through many of the game's levels.
Multiple charecters, side scrolling, minigames and bosses are all this game has going for it? There's a game called drawn to like that's like thism only it at least had a unique idea in there.
@thps48 - Amen to that!
Hmmm...not really holding my breath If you know how much **** gets made for the DS, you probably wouldn't be surprised if this was bad.
@ drogaz My thoughts exactly. The description definitely makes it out to be a Lost Vikings-esk game. Which is great.. I've always wanted to see a Lost Vikings revival of some sort. So if this comes any where close to that I'd be more then happy.
Best. Subtitle. Ever. It looks like this is going to be a Lost Vikings type action game with Invader Zim type humor. Looks pretty fun! I'll be looking out for this one.
dissapointing video preview...
yummmy zombies, i hope this is going to good, i can't wait for more info
That's what cuts it for a video preview these days? I saw Ignition advertise their name and logo. What else ya' got?
I'm with NinjaWallace. If this game manages to capture the gameplay of Lost Vikings, with a good dose of humor mixed in, it could become quite the hit. It sounds like that's what the developer is shooting for from the press release.
Seems like Lost Vikings with zombies.
I'd rather see another zombie game with the same gameplay as Dead Rising...to me, that and the RE series is about as close as you're going to get to stuff like Night of the Living Dead, which IMO is really what brought zombies into our culture in the first place. Or not...I've had a few rum and cokes this evening and it's almost 1am so my lack of sobriety and sleep could be wearing on me.
Don't know about this one. Will definitely have to see reviews on this one.
:? Are you serious?
I really don't think this was worth a spot on the top of the DS page... A game is announced, it has the same basic platforming elements as The Lost Vikings, now with more touching. Period. Worthwhile video though. *sarcasm off*
I can't bring myself to say "Yay zombies" when I keep seeing zombies that aren't zombies. Zombies that can speak. Zombies that can run. Zombies that can be killed with attacks on anything except their brain, or total bodily destruction. I can pass no comment on a game I haven't played. I just miss my good old-fashioned shambling, moaning dead. :(
I want a game with alian nazi zombies that I can blow to kingdom come.
Yet another quality game for the Nintendo DS... *sarcasm off*
Still waiting for a remake/ re-release of Zombies Ate My Neighbors.....
The trailer doesn't friggin show anything! :P It might be cool, we'll just have to see. Looks like it might be funny...maybe. :P
Does anyone else think that this sounds like Lost Vikings? (will scroll down momentarily to see if someone else wrote the same comment) moments later...yup, there it is...first comment on this page says, "Just like lost vikings." Great minds, right?
I have just onw thing to say. Yay zombies!
Sounds like it could be a good game, I always enjoy zombie games anyways. Stubbs the Zombie was fantastic(too short though =/) even if it was from a zombies point of view, in fact, i think i liked that more =P
nice. playing as zombies instead of against them is a dream come true. It happened before. It's called "Stubbs the Zombie" and it's on the Xbox.
Awww... the video doesn't work.
nice. playing as zombies instead of against them is a dream come true.
Well,it sounds interesting..
"Each of the playable zombies will have his own unique abilities, and you'll purportedly need to switch between all three of them to make it through many of the game's levels." Sounds like The Lost Vikings, that's exciting
