Teenage Zombies gnawing on DS next year
Ignition Entertainment announces the development of Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys for Nintendo's handheld.
Independent developer Ignition Entertainment announced today that it will release a new game, Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys, for the Nintendo DS in spring 2008.
The retro-sci-fi-influenced game, which is currently in development at Canada-based InLight Entertainment, will see players assuming the roles of three zombie teens battling alien invaders who bear more than a passing resemblance to particularly succulent brains. Ironically, the cranium-fancying trio doesn't necessarily know that it's saving the world; they just happen to be overlooking their normal sustenance in favor of new alien prey.
Although the teaser trailer released today gives away very little about the gampeplay behind Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys, Ignition Entertainment has confirmed that the action will primarily be side-scrolling-platformer-flavored, but it will also incorporate stylus-powered minigames, puzzle-solving, and boss battles. Each of the playable zombies will have his or her own unique abilities, and you'll purportedly need to switch between all three of them to make it through many of the game's levels.
