Team Ico collection out in September in Japan
HD remakes of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus to come in standard and limited edition pack.
Gamers in Japan who have been waiting patiently for updates concerning Team Ico's upcoming collection, which features Ico and Shadow of the Colossus in a new coat of HD paint, can rejoice. Sony Computer Entertainment has finally set a release date for the collection: September 22. The date was confirmed on a recent update of the collection's official website.
The remakes of the games will be sold as separate titles in Japan, while the rest of the region will get the game bundled together. Sony also mentioned that it will be selling a bundle called the Ico/Wander to Kyozo Limited Box (with Wander to Kyozo being the Japanese title for Shadow of the Colossus). This bundle will contain both games, a special 100-page booklet about both titles, and dynamic custom themes for use on the PlayStation 3 XMB dashboard. The set will be bundled in a special casing and will cost gamers in Japan 6,980 yen ($86.50).
Both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are regarded as memorable classics on the PlayStation 2. The Team Ico collection will feature full 3D support and have its graphics redone in high definition. An English release date for the collection has yet to be announced.
