HD remakes of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus to come in standard and limited edition pack.
Gamers in Japan who have been waiting patiently for updates concerning Team Ico's upcoming collection, which features Ico and Shadow of the Colossus in a new coat of HD paint, can rejoice. Sony Computer Entertainment has finally set a release date for the collection: September 22. The date was confirmed on a recent update of the collection's official website.
The remakes of the games will be sold as separate titles in Japan, while the rest of the region will get the game bundled together. Sony also mentioned that it will be selling a bundle called the Ico/Wander to Kyozo Limited Box (with Wander to Kyozo being the Japanese title for Shadow of the Colossus). This bundle will contain both games, a special 100-page booklet about both titles, and dynamic custom themes for use on the PlayStation 3 XMB dashboard. The set will be bundled in a special casing and will cost gamers in Japan 6,980 yen ($86.50).
Both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are regarded as memorable classics on the PlayStation 2. The Team Ico collection will feature full 3D support and have its graphics redone in high definition. An English release date for the collection has yet to be announced.
Please Ueda and Team Ico, us North Americans deeply cherish these games too... please give us a special edition just as good as Japan's.
This needs to come to NA soon. I will buy this day one cause Ico games are so amazing and are so underrated.
@kittyrolls That was meant to be a sort of joke. I was just trying to look on the bright side of things; At least I'll save money this way. (Truth is I'm pretty sore we aren't getting this awesomeness.)
This is awesome news. I hope we get the excellent Japanese/European versions of the cover art when it's released here in North America.
I want the same bundle to be released everywhere else too. But that will probably end up being too much to ask :(
That bundle looks killer. This is the greatest news i will probably hear today. Just to know it has a release date is just awesome
I never actually got to play Shadow of the Colossus on the PS2. Well, I don't get to play it now either, because I don't own a PS3.
MGS, ZOE and Team ICO bundles. I'm so gonna buy it. Those games were better than many new games nowadays, plus i lost my PS2 anyway ...
Oh GOD i have just finshed watching Konami's E3 Show and it made me crazy and now this!!! it's so damn awesome please release the collector's edition in the USA too T_T
I swear. If this comes out in November I'm going to flip. Way too many games coming out that month that I want Day 1.
Cool, now bring it over in English as well. First God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill and now Team Ico remakes. I am glad publishers are making those games!
@pealsoflaughter What's wrong with being tempted by a Limited Addition? I'd buy it straight away, no questions asked!
I'm kind of glad that we aren't getting a limited edition, because I'd be really tempted to buy it. haha Ah, but that boxed set really is gorgeous. I don't know what the US has against illustrated covers, but I sure wouldn't mind seeing more of them.
