i wish Tales of Graces F would come this year because i don't want Tales of the Abyss represent us in 10th anniversary is also represent us in 15th anniversary (it also would be better if Tales of Xillia is localize in english next year).
Namco Bandai bringing updated PS2 role-playing game to North America later this year, puts 2012 window on US PS3 release of Tales of Graces F.
Good stories can improve with age, something Namco Bandai is banking on as it prepares a pair of rereleases in its long-running Tales series of role-playing games. Today the publisher announced that it would be bringing the 2006 PlayStation 2 game Tales of the Abyss to the 3DS later this year and put a 2012 North American launch window on Tales of Graces F, the PlayStation 3 revamp of the 2009 Wii original.
When Tales of the Abyss arrives for Nintendo's latest portable, it will do so with a handful of enhancements. Besides support for the system's glasses-free stereoscopic 3D feature, Tales of the Abyss will make use of the system's touch screen in battle and include special animations for the game's mystical attacks.
In Tales of the Abyss, players assume the role of a young aristocrat who was kidnapped as a child and left with no memory of the events before the abduction. Although he has been confined to his mansion since his return for his own safety, the young man eventually finds himself transported out into the world through a strange rift. There he must overcome not only his adversaries, but also his naivete of the world outside his manor.
As for Tales of Graces F, the game takes place on Efinea, a planet dominated by three kingdoms competing for the right to rule. After losing a close friend, Asbel, the eldest son of a feudal lord, enlists in a knight's academy in his kingdom's capital to learn to better protect those he loves. Asbel's father subsequently dies, and Asbel then takes his place as a feudal lord, and the adventure begins. The Wii version of Tales of Graces has yet to see release outside of Japan.

Great! I was so worried that Namco Bandai wasn't going to release Abyss 3DS in North America... Now I don't have to buy a Japanese 3DS just to play the Abyss XD
Once upon a time I was a diehard Final Fantasy fan, but in the last 5 years I have really loved all of the Tales games. I will almost certainly be picking this up
Should I buy 3ds just for this game?? vesperia and graces f were brilliant! I hope they remake all tales games into psp ds or ps3 -__- rather than 3ds
Yay for an RPG on the 3DS, boo for touchscreen controls. Hopefully they are optional. This may be the game that gets me to buy a 3DS.
i personally LOVED tales of the abyss including the anime series it had. It has strong charaters, with great resolve and such a sad ending i will not spoiler it though i personally think its one of THE best anime's ever made and that i played and i personally will get this
WHOOOAA!! If Tales of the Abyss is coming to the 3DS, then it'll be much more worth it to get a 3DS!! :O
I'm sorry, was that supposed to be a list of Tales games or just most of the ones that didn't leave Japan?
@Shadow-Elite I think it's safe to say that TotA may easily be the RPG of the year on 3DS. Of course, it may be the ONLY RPG this year... But now I wish I had a 3DS. Need to get one sometime in the future. Graces F...all I can say is I'm pre-ordering day 1 (when the product page is posted at GS). Good to know that Namco is finally getting smart. In the past, there's been like 5 Tales games (Graces/F, Radiant Mytholgy 2, VS, Versperia, Vesperia PS3, Vesperia movie, etc. Oh, and not to mention Code Geass costumes for Graces F. Hey, I think I just named those in almost ABC order entirely by accident!), and of those, we only got one, and that's Vesperia. But for Vesperia being a 2008 game, I'm surprised that at Gamestop, A) It's still about $30 of trade in value, and B) It's one of the elegible games for their LA Noire offer.
Now I have more of a reason to get a 3DS. One of my top ten favorite JRPGs is coming out for it. Graces f, I just can't wait for.
If I wanted a 3DS, I'd get Abyss 3DS. As it is, I'm perfectly content with the PS2 version. Graces f, on the other hand, I can't wait for.
@SolidTy They didn't add anything to the 3DS port of Tales of the Abyss besides 3D and touch controls. Everything is exactly the same as the PS2 version including no VA for skits. 2012 for Graces? Typical of Scamco but not like I care, where's Xillia at?
i have abyss for ps2 already. BUT i recommend everyone with a 3DS to buy this awesome game when it comes out this year.
This is the one 3DS game I really wanted to come out in America. Now that is confirmed, I will definitely buy a 3DS (eventually, when the price drops quite a bit anyway).
I never played Abyss either. Symphonia is my favorite game of all time so I'm hoping abyss is just as good. No Tales of Graces saddens me but I did say one day i will get a PS3.

Tales of the Abyss is still an entertaining role-playing game, but poor 3D makes this handheld version slightly disappointing.
