Tac Ops: Assault on Terror announced
Microprose will release a retail version of the popular Unreal Tournament mod this spring.
Microprose has announced Tac Ops: Assault on Terror, its upcoming team-based first-person shooter. The game is a retail stand-alone version of the popular Tac Ops mod for Unreal Tournament, and it features enhanced graphics, new maps and skins, and improved code and animations not found in the downloadable mod.
Like the popular Half-Life: Counter-Strike team-based shooter, Tac Ops will let players assume the role of a terrorist or an antiterrorist Special Forces soldier, and they must work with a team of other players in order to complete certain objectives, such as rescuing hostages, defending vessels, and capturing hideouts. In addition to the multiplayer mode, the game will include a complete single-player campaign.
Tac Ops will include 18 detailed maps and a variety of real-world weapons. The game is in development at Paris-based Kamehan Studios, and it is scheduled for release this spring. For more information, visit the official Tac Ops Web site.
