Tabula Rasa closed beta begins

Hey, I just got added to the beta completely forgot I tried to get in!

Geez, I didn't know its existed that long.

Sounds good to me, one of several MMOs I am currently watching.

Right, I think we're all glad for some good news.

Richard and Robert Garriott know how to make a game like this. Let's hope they've surrounded themselves with the right people and made the right business deals. This game could be really good. I waited years for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and that was worth it. Hopefully the same will hold true for Tabula Rasa.

hmm. NCsoft. I wonder if this is actually going to be another pseudo MMO like Guild Wars where there is no monthly fee. That would be pretty nice especially with Garriot at the helm.

Huh? Design docs? I don't know why but I'm watching the trailers for this game and I'm excited!

When I heard they changed their design docs for this game, I died inside a little.

I hope the more twitch-based gameplay and FPS interface make this game inherently fun to play, unlike other MMO's out there that literally make you pay to grind away at a second job. I knew that most MMO's weren't for me when I realized that I enjoyed some jobs I'd had more, and that while I was working at those jobs, I was being -paid-! And not y'know... paying to work several hours to get a few pieces of loot and some gold.

SOE needs to make Planetside 2, now that would be good

Not that eye candy should make or break a game, but I'm surprised at how dated those graphics/textures appear. Let's hope they throw a DX10 skin on the game before it's released.

Lol. Did they say how many invites they sent out? I know that they are going to send out more and more as time goes by... I hope this game delivers on its promise. Starr Long is da man :)

6 years and only reached beta... holy.

I got my invite a few days ago, and have played it a bit. I'm still under the NDA so I can't really discuss it, but.....yeah....not that good.

This game sounds to have lots of promise. It is kool that he did a Sci-Fi MMO and not a fantasy one. i am sick to death of MMO fantasy games. They got old and lame. And screw World of Warcraft. It can bite me. Same with DnD Online and even that new LOTR MMO. Down with fantasy MMO's. Heck, I would even take a modern MMO over a fantasy one these days!!

Looks good, its been a while since I have heard anything at all about this game. As some have said looks like a nice diversion from WoW, and its made by Richard Garriott, cant go wrong there.

There are a lot of MMOs in the pipeline, but most are still in the fantasy genre. We need a good sci-fi MMO. Matrix Online didn't work out so well. Rumor has it that Bioware is working on a KOTOR MMO, but that won't be out for a while. Tabula Rasa might come out by the end of this year, though, and Garriott being lead designer bodes well.

Anarchy Online was the last somewhat decent Sci-Fi MMORPG I got into. However, I found socializing in the world difficult, and it had an excessively difficult learning curve. Hopefully this game will do better. It looks fantastic, and I love a good Sci-Fi game. With so much fantasy going on out there right now, and the failure of Star Wars Galaxies, this game could fill a nice niche.

I hope for an open beta too, looks like a fresh change from WoW and something GOOD as apposed to RF Online.

at least someone is on time. a bit more hyped up WAR MMO is getting badly delayed, and the rest of the WoW's competion is...well sad and pathetic.

I'm hoping for the best, for this one. Been wanting a sci-fi MMO... check that, a GOOD and ORIGINAL sci-fi MMO for a long time. Garriott and NCsoft can pull that off.
