they still make games for the ps2? Wow it really is a living legend. Long live PS2.

I will get this game just because it is syphon filter, not everyone wants to play it on the psp . I think it is a smart move to bring this game to the ps2 they know people are still playing it after all these years, even though most of us also has a 360 as well. the ps2 is still fun to go back to occasionally and yes gameplay is more important than graphics . Ninbri64 dont call people dumb just because of a game you moron its just your dumbass opinion .

As a loyal fan of Syphon Filter, I'm interested. What I'd really like is Ready at Dawn to port their games to the PS2; that would be a really shiny highlight as PS2 marches towards year 10.

I love you PS2. Why did the PS3 turn out to be a huge disappointment compared to the gaming bliss that is the PS2? Sony dropped the ball this gen.

Could the PS2 become the longest running game console?! Only time will tell, I suppose...

I bet those who are sour about it no longer have their ps2s or psps. Why'd you get rid of it anyways? Or are you an MS follower who's jealous that PS2 is still given the much needed love unlike the classic xbox. If sony still has the resources to support the ps2, let them. The ps2 is a great console and it deserves a royal treatment.

(but don't get me wrong... porting from PSP to PS2 is an absolute cakewalk. The easiest possible port job in the industry right now. And thefore it's fast and cheap. But that still doesn't answer the question of whether there is still a market or not... no matter how awesome the game is...)

They took BC outta the original PS3s so they could keep selling PS2s. Sneaky. I wonder if that's class action 'suit worthy? ha jk

Somewhat late. It's almost been three years.

PS2 is dead, the game releases for the system have come down to just a handful...... Sony should have let PS2 go with dignity around the same time Microsoft stopped production of the original XBOX. For me the last great game released for the PS2 was Onimusha: Dawn Of Dreams, I stopped even playing games for 2 years after that but returned when I got my first XBOX 360, since then I haven't looked back.......

I would rather see Sony work on more original titles for the PS3 like LittleBigPlanet and Heavy Rain rather then a new Syphon Filter game.

@gamer082009 - What I was trying to say is that Porting a PSP game to the PS2 is effortless. For Sony to make a HD Syphon Filter for a PS3 is a huge investment that could fail. Look at some top tier PS3 games like Uncharted 2... while it earned rave reviews and GOTY awards it also failed to meet sales expectations.

@gamer082009 - Syphon Filter Logans Shadow is a freakin PSP port, how much time & resources do you think they need to do that? and Why do you think sony will announce nothing at E3? Suckerpunch has been working on InFamous 2 since before they finished InFamous, and they likely show a trailer for David Jaffe's mystery game (Twisted Metal for PS3) even though he's not going to be present at E3. I wouldn't doubt if we saw a trailer for Killzone 3 as well :D. I personally can't wait for E3.

PS2 will live on and so what if it gets a new game if it isnt on PS3?. Shut up those who think otherwise

@gamer082009 I agree with you for the most part. Really, why are people still developing PS2 games? They need not do that, or else add backwards compatibility back...please!!! Which reminds me of another thing: Wild Arms 5. Media Vision said that it will be the last Wild Arms game for the PS2. But that was a few years ago, and I'm assuming that's on the assumption that the PS2 would be dead by now. And I was thinking that same thing. I'll admit that I do have a little hope of ONE game coming out on the PS2...and that game is Fullmetal Alchemist 3. (as I am a fan of the anime series) In English, that is. Anyway I just think that the PS2 needs to just.....already.

This type of stuff right here is exactly why Sony's pisses me off. Why the heck are they still wasting time and resources on the creation solely PS2 games? This is ridiculous..a new Syphon Filter game for the PS3 should have been priority not a PSP to PS2 port with upgraded subpar graphics. If nothing is announced @ E3 I'm sure there really isn't any plan for it in the near future. Sony needs to get their priority's straight because they are lost!

They must be crazy to not release this for the PS3, i remember the original on my PS2, its all i played for a very long time, the weapon sound effects were exellent, and i also loved the stealth elements. Surely this would be a sure-fire hit should they make a PS3 version.

FaintRain I agree Very lazy of them, don't get me wrong i had a ps2 and so did just about every one i know. they were great for there time but for the love of god they made the ps3 for a reason. So why don't they just make a ps3 sequel instead of just transferring a psp game over to one of there old consoles, thats very lazy and disappointing.

Great news, I still play my PS2 quite a bit. Just another reason for me to keep my PS2 hooked up. I keep saying, if only they would make the PS3 BC, that would be a HUGE selling point for me.

I think these are great news for the ps2 owners and for the console because the ps2 was a great console and still it is and there are lots of cool games! Let's not forget how fast the dream cast died and the classic xbox! Sometimes you fell you want to play some classic games! WHAT ARE YOU DOING? You ran to your ps2 and start playing some cool games! I have a psp and i played syphon filter logan's shadow a lot and i think its great that it' appearing now on ps2!

@akiwak Geez, I hope not. The ps2 is one of the greatest treasure a gamer could ever have. I pray they would never discontinue ps2. It's easier to say to discontinue the ps2 when you have the ps3. What about those who can no longer afford? For some, the ps2 is the only connection they could ever have with sony gaming entertainment. For gaming universe sake, give me eternity for the ps2 anyday

I still buy ps2 games.... A lot of them. But even I have been wondering when will the ps2 be discontinued. By the sales numbers everyone who wants one should have one already. Though I think i need a new one...

I only have the first three games on PS1 still, I skipped on Omega Strain for PS2. If I ever decide to get back into the Syphon Filter games, I might pick up the two PS2 ports of the PSP games since I still have no PSP. I was wondering if that other PSP Syphon Filter would be ported. And updated as well? Well done.

@DarkNeoBahamut Are you serious? Read the story, at least, the game has been on the PSP since 2007, this is a port.

i for one am glad ps2 is still getting action. I own a ps3 xbox 360 and a ps2 still. i play my ps2 often. and its still a great console. so why not bring games to it for the people who cant afford a psp to play the games

That goes to show you how awesome the PS2 is .. 10 yrs after its release and it's still getting games .. Heck , I need to eventually dust off my silver PS2 to play some of those classics that I missed ! ..

We can only hope that this fails and make this year the final year of the PS2.......
