I got my *preorder* today (almost a week after release) and lo and behold NO PREORDER GOODIES! I called BestBuy and they said "you must have not selected the additional items in the cart"! I did not see any itmes other than the preorder. She did admit that they had receives otheer calls from unhappy gamers who did not get the preorder stuff either. I could have brought this game for $37 at Frys and already been playing it. Now I have to wait for BB to get back to me on what they will do since I opened the game...anyone else say CLASS ACTION against BB?
"Mission briefing" featuring game's lead designer Chris Taylor to sweeten preorder deal; game due on shelves in just under a week.
Publisher THQ has revealed details surrounding the special-edition DVD that will accompany preorders of Supreme Commander, which recently went gold at Redmond, Washington-based developer Gas Powered Games.
The DVD will come packaged with a collectible lenticular postcard with a message from GPG frontman Chris Taylor, a video "mission briefing" starring Taylor, a video documentary about the game's development, three original audio music tracks from the game, and various art assets, including a fan-site kit and desktop "wallpaper" graphics.
For those who do preorder, the bonus materials will be available immediately--the game itself will arrive when Supreme Commander begins shipping next week. The game carries a suggested retail price of $49.99, including all preorder goodies.
Despite being an original intellectual property, Supreme Commander is considered to be the spiritual successor to another classic strategy game Taylor designed: 1997's Total Annihilation. Like that game, Supreme Commander takes place in a sci-fi world at war, with futuristic factions that command powerful, experimental military units pitted against one another.
The new game attempts to embrace the same sense of large-scale strategy as its predecessor by supporting huge land-and-sea battles and a 3D engine that can be zoomed all the way out to an abstract map view.
The game is scheduled for release on February 20. For more information on Supreme Commander, consult our previous coverage of the game.
It was out last week at EB games (Sweden), would have bought it but i`m looking for the special edition DVD.
game is awesome, runs great, it requires a score of 5 in vista to be able to play well. 4 gigs of ram which should be minum for most gamming systems these days, x1950 xt or pro for video card, cpu 4200 dual core amd works great. ALL in all you system like that hsould run around 800$
i hope you all have a really fast pc cos this is very demanding. mine is pretty good and its struggleing on the active parts of the game .

I made a post about this preorder stuff a month ago in the comments of another sup com news story. Jeez, I should do game news...
Old news I pre-ordered mine 2 weeks ago and got the same set up..I wonder why they are reporting on it now.
Any day now! Pre-ordered the UEF Faction pack version from Amazon. Should be dispatched today it says.
I'll pre-order to show my ongoing support for CT and TA, after all these years. Let's hope SC evolves into another pc gaming legend...
So, I pre-orderd and now I get more? let me get this straight the DVD comes with ALL preorders!? kewl! thanks GPG! BTW you pay $59.99 in the States!? thats insane! I pay about R265.00 thats $37.85! thats about a $22 difference! :P
I'm not sure about the pre order stuff but I will get this game as soon as I can I will get CC3 but that may have to wait until the 1 april that is my birth day. Supreme is the number one thing I'll get.
I decided to pre-order this game even before I knew about the special DVD. I've been waiting so long for this game, along with C&C3! Which is coming out next month. WOOT, WOOT! ^__^ RTS FTW!
awesome, can't wait for this. man GPGnet (the multiplayer-matchmaker-socializing chatroom thing) is really really awesome!! this is gonna be played for a long long time.....just like TA!!
all the stuff is free. not bad. postcard kinda boring though :P music is just clips. but the 2 videos are worth watching.
cool... but I'm not sure my pc beefy enough. Looks like the game's got a pretty massive scope. I'm a big RTS fan, so I'll consider. The preorder bonus kinda sucks though. Geez, with Lost Planet you get an action figure + multiplayer map. Crackdown gets you beta Halo 3 access. They gotta dangle more than some art, music, and a documentary to get copies sold!
