alpha movie is pretty cool. but, not worth getting it on umd., way too expensive to watch it on a small screen. if umd, is worth $4.99. then i think about it. if you dont have it, just get it on a dvd.
Sequel to the 1995 Street Fighter II TV series is a Ryu-centric animated movie for the Sony portable.
Street Fighter Alpha: The Movie has kicked its way to gamers' PlayStation Portables, distributor Manga Entertainment and Street Fighter developer Capcom announced today. The 100-minute animated feature, a sequel to the 1995 Street Fighter II: V television series, follows mainstay Ryu as he encounters longtime sparring partner Ken, faces his inner demons, and eventually challenges his nemesis, Akuma. The only announced extra included with the $19.99 feature is a behind-the-scenes documentary of the movie's creation. The release of the Street Fighter PSP movie comes amid a flurry of Street Fighter Alpha-related products: Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX, whose preorders included free stick-on D pad controller attachments, was released in February on the PSP to rave reviews. More recently, a compendium of the Alpha games--Street Fighter Alpha Anthology--was released June 13 on the PlayStation 2.
street fighter alpha was a pretty good movie, the animation and fight scenes were great the story was ok but nothin special, it has been out for a while but so have a bunch of other movies that have been released on umd technically iff you dont have sf alpha the movie this is dat same good movie on the go so there really isnt nothin negative about it being on UMD
At least this movie was way better than the one Jean Claude Van Damme put out. That movie was garbage.
People need to stop buying Street Fighter games!! As long as they're making loads of cash off of arcade ports, they'll continue to dish out crappy games and even crappy movies...
Who cares!?! way to expensive for a UMD. People cry over the price of downloads on XBL but this is crappy. $20 for a movie that maybe watch once with no real extras? c'mon! what a waste of time, money, and plastic. how about some real games. tired of the ps2 ports and sequel of the sequel of the sequel of games.
This movie is actually not a sequel to any of the previous SF movies/series. SF Alpha the movie is the best SF movie made (it's good, but not great). SF Alpha Generations (the sequel) was pretty bad. Also, if anyone is planning on getting this expecting a big Akuma vs. Ryu fight, you will be VERY disappointed. Let's just say "challenges" does not mean "fights".
I remeber seeing one of the Street Fighter Animated movies, and christ, it was a lot more gore and bloody than expected. Still didn't make it a good movie, but I wonder if the same level of violence will take place in thie 100 minute animation. At least it would raise some peoples interest. As for me, I couldn't care less. Kudos to PSP owners should sales say otherwise.
I saw theOTHER Streeet Fighter Movie(animated) where He searches for KEN to have his rematch. That one was also cool:D
i think the movie was pretty cool, i watched both alpha and alpha generations, but i might pick it up.
it should be good. i hope its as good as final fanrasy advent children. psp just keeps on getting new content. to bad the ds cant play movies.LOL
I mean, does anyone actually buy UMD's. Hell, I have a White PSP from Japan cause I think it looks better, plus I knew I'd never buy UMD's in the first place.
Well, the SFA movies is "ok" but nothing I'd get excited over. SF2 was done WAY better and the best by far. I think if anything should come to UMD, it should be SF2 Uncut.
Personally I didn't care for it that much. The animation was well done but the story wasn't that interesting and I thought Akuma should've had a bigger role.
so many haters these days....... the movie isn't that bad! if you dont have the DVD version it's worth getting!
I'm sorry, but Sony's plan to boost UMD sales will fail. I'm pretty sure Sony had there hand in this "UMD Exclusive".
All of you nay-sayers expected too much from the movie and PSP in general. Both are probably not perfect, but they're both good. Although I wouldn't fully invest in the UMD market, it gets you to do something more than listen to music or play games. (like SFA3 MAX, hah!)
its a waste cause this movie is like three years old (i got mine in DVD two years ago) but those of you who havent even seen it let alone knew there was a street fighter movie i think you should pick it up it was really good
I agree with hazuki - bring out SF2 animated. Ive had the alpha movie on dvd for a few years now, its kinda lame.
hmmm..... $19.99... .. ... .. Street Fighter Alpha animated movie on UMD... .... ~sigh~............ ................... nah.
If any street fighter movie comes out on the psp, it should be street fighter 2: the animated movie but bring it out uncut. Street fighter 2 v the series wouldnt be a bad thing to release either, though what exactly is the point of umds as the dvd counterparts are cheaper and better. A 1 gig memory stick is only like 30$ now and a usb cable for the psp is also super cheap.
Nah I don't think so. UMD is the only place I can find this movie, along with the 2 Darkstalkers UMD's out. So I'll buy them all. $20 is pretty expensive.
Um...why? What exactly is the point of this likely-awful movie coming out at all, let alone only on UMD?
