Ubuntu is incrediblly powerfull, but incredibly incomplete, is like having the pieces and you have to put it together, but also doing a lot of research, a lot of getting packages and software, drivers, trial an error... it can become a complete mess! if linux can be improved to play videogames it will become something amazing, but unfortunelly, this will take even years...
@Lestat_jio the philosophy about the linux/gnu combo is great in theory, it's just not working in the real world. So just no. Fuck compiling my drivers and kernel modifying for mounting mu harddrives, modprobing s**t here, writing my own config files for whatever trivial, there. My OS should be working out of the box, and if i want to, i'll chose which programs i want to use and tinker with, I shouldn't have to do that for basic functionality changes to the OS. Ubuntu _LOOKS_ like windows in that respect but if you're not satisfied with the choices that was pre-made and try to change anything, its all the hard way and that's simply not working, and too time consuming. STILL hate the whole xserver/xorg aspect, it's just not working, shitty way of implementing input and screen.
@WarGod667 @Lestat_jio you are right, its like having tools and wood, and you can make the best chair ever... but it will take youre whole life to do it, i like to config my stuff, but having a OS working out of box for PC is almost impossible, in mac is easy because they share all the hardware and is the same OS working for the same components. in Pc there is a lot of posibilities and that my friend, gives the INDIVIDUALITY witch is lost in Apple machines
@WarGod667 @Lestat_jio im not american, im mexican, i dont like copy/paste i like playing in PC :)
@Lestat_jio @WarGod667 well, i don't care about individuality, im not an american, i'd like something that works, which is hard to come by these days, just look at android, man, dont take me there :(
