I'm thinking it will be a sequel to the Rebel Assault series. I've only played RA 2 a little, but an on rails shooter would be an appropriate offering for XBL. I guess we will all know within a few months. It could be good, back to the basics and keep it simple. Of course I'm salivating for 1313, but I'll consider this one too.
Listing for unannounced LucasArts project appears on Web forum; developer says is is an "exciting time" at the studio.
A new Star Wars game is headed to Xbox Live Arcade, according to an eagle-eyed NeoGAF forum user. Cover art for Star Wars: First Assault (below right) bears the iconic Star Wars font and style, and appears to show a battalion of stormtroopers taking on rebel forces.
The game has not yet been announced by LucasArts, but it is not entirely a mystery. In August, the company filed a trademark application for Star Wars: First Assault for "interactive video games," among other things. Additionally, www.StarWarsFirstAssault.com currently redirects to the official Star Wars website.
A LucasArts representative told IGN, "It is an exciting time at our company right now, however, we don't have any announcements at this time."
Though Star Wars: First Assault is not confirmed, LucasArts took the lid off Star Wars 1313 over the summer. That third-person action game is set beneath the surface of Coruscant, with players taking on the role of a lethal bounty hunter in a seedy atmosphere.
First Assault... Could it essentially be Battlefront on Xbox Live Arcade? DICE had a solid amount of success when they released Battlefield 1943 as a standalone arcade release, and I found it to be one of the best multiplayer shooters of that year. Maybe we'll see something similar here.
I would love a good SW game...it has been to long since some of the greats were released. The last couple of years it has seemed like LA went the route of "lets just get a quickie out the door for some money" ie Force Unleashed series...I hope they take their time on 1313 and dont push it out the door to quickly
Finally .. this game is gonna be smth even 4 none SW fans , they'll love it .. cuz it's mixed from th best games .. like Uncharted and Mass Effect .. but this one seams better than both

Forget Battlefront, I wanna see another Dark Forces game. Its been too long since we last saw Kyle Katarn break out the old Bryar pistol. Either that or I wanna see a new X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter game. Those were the good old days.
@SpardisJX I liked just "Tie Fighter" - I had the CE of it. Great game - seeing Vader take out an entire X-wing squad himself, only to then attack a capital ship was insane.
@SpardisJX good god YES, X-wing vs Tie fighter was bloody amazing. Loved that game on the PC sooooo much lol. But Space sims are dying atm, They need coming back :-)
they could easily fit battlefront 2 in a downloadable arcade package, hopefully its something like bf2 cause theres enough of every other genre of game that has a star wars logo on it.
@BasicLogic Agreed. Battlefront essentially boils down to a collection of maps with lots of players and bots on it. It doesn't need a campaign. If they can create a multiplayer shooter with big maps full of objectives and bots and turrets and all that stuff for XBLA (what was that game called? Section 8?), then we can get SW:BF3.
i sensing that every sucsessfull title is coming back to XBLA (and maybe playstation store eventually) just look sonic adventure 2 is coming back with NiGHTS into dreams Oddworld HD is coming back and look at other comeback XBLA titles
worms ultimate mayhem was a combanation of worms 3D and worms 4 mayhem
so this game might be star wars battlefront 1+2
@thequickshooter battle front 2 was pretty much the same game with more stuff, Personally I wouldn't mind BF3 though. Online would be amazingly fun.
Star Wars is dead. It was finished after SOTE. All of it is just a toy commercial so Lucas can put away another million.
@redskinStu The Force Unleashed, the first outting, was tremendous. Bounty Hunter back on the PS2 was alos outstanding. You've ruffled some feathers that could reveal a bird with great talons there.
@Megleeker @redskinStu Force unleashed was good. Two... not so much. I think the last outstanding Star Wars game was Empire at War and that was a long time ago now. I agree that many of the greatest games ever made have been Star Wars, but I also believe Lucasarts of late need to get their act together again.
@redskinStu Star Wars is one of the most reliable video game franchises in the world. Not every game is a blockbuster, but their pedigree caries top games from every console and PC generation and even arcade games.
Many of their games have received high critical acclaim including Game of The Year.
It is one of the few Movie to Video Game cross-overs that is so successful, that people forget it is a Movie to Video Game cross-over.
@redskinStu So you're saying Lucas should have given up on the most successful film franchise of all time in 1983? Shadows of the Empire was the title that put Star Wars video games back on the map, and that was way back in 1997. By your logic, there hasn't been anything good in the Star Wars universe since then. I guess you never played K.O.T.O.R., Battlefront, Republic Commando, Rogue Squadron, The Force Unleashed or any of the LEGO games. Lucas made close to one billion dollars on merchandising on A New Hope alone (between 1977 and 1980) and I don't blame him for it. Since then, Star Wars has remained the number 2 toy license (behind only Barbie) in the entire world. If Star Wars products were so inferior and uninteresting, the public demand for them would have slowed to a halt. Since this is obviously not the case, I (along with countless millions of adult and kid collectors) will continue to happily purchase Star Wars products with a smile on my face. I can't wait for First Assault and 1313.
@SolidTy it is ok to be skeptic , but the franchise does have a long history of a hit and miss kind of pattern.
As long as it's not a Kinect game, then it'll probably pretty good.Still, I hope that they eventually make Battlefront III.
Good news for all those Star Wars Fans. last 360 Kinetic Star Wars games was................................................a Mess.
