Star Trek: The Video Game due April 23

It looks very promising. As a Trekkie I can't wait to get my hands on this.

Star Trek rarely gets a great game... The screen shots look nice. Hopefully it beats the odds.

If this is a movie game, I predict flop.. I'll save judgment though.

This will no doubt crash an burn like the Enterprise in an asteroid field.

I wish Bioware would get the rights to Star Trek so we can have a proper Star Trek RPG with some depth to it and not just a crappy shooter or limited space sim.

I hope this reaches the right ears, as usual...I hope developers and filmmakers alike understand that I look at the plot to the latest Star Trek movies and their inventive technologies and even some of their theories, then turn away in disgust SIMPLY because it is Star Trek...What's the problem here, can anyone tell me? That's right, Star Trek is too saturated with it's little failed social biases to anything but make me sick...Does ANYONE else consider this a tragedy, because I SURE do, and it's when it comes to video game form that this becomes MOST APPARENT...

I never buy movie games but with this I'll make an exception. I've liked what I've seen and read and look forward to this and the movie.

I would rather watch the film... 

Very Mass Effect by the look of it. I want elements of starship command/control as well as RPG and combat in this game. Until Star Trek et al embrace the whole universe of the franchise they are from then they will always be selling a 3rd rate game. I would love to see this become a triple A title but know that it will just slide by into bargain bins across the globe adored only by stalwart fans alone.

And just to clarify, I am a Trekker (not Trekkie though).

I would like a new Bridge Commander game.

This game looks like it could be fun. It seems like it could be kinda like Mass Effect in gameplay style, which is a good thing. It has been awhile since there was a good Star Trek, and this one seems like it coould be good.

I wish this game was great, and while some aspects to it seems good, it seems like it's going to get either a 6.5 or maybe a 7.0. If this game gets at least OK scores, I might want to pick it up. I've already been interested in getting Tron: Evolution and Bloodstone, which I imagine this to be around the same quality; one of those games that you can find some fun out of and has interesting ideas, but could have been much better.

Damn the last good game for star trek was...um...bridge commander?  Well it's the only one that I've played for so many years like over a decade now pretty much and still is impressive with the kobayashimaru mods.  Klingon academy was fun but windows 7 kills it, armada games are too easy to master even on hardest difficulty but they are fun, I cant seem to find the second armada game though.

is this game a first-person shooter??

The box art looks like Call of Duty: Final Frontier. Get a new box art style already.

I don't have any hope for movie tie-ins based on GOOD movies, let alone this abomination. Wonder if the number of explosions will surpass the frequency of lens flares in the next movie? JJ: "Mission accomplished."

Now, someone guess which one that's from? There are a few different variations, but this is the only one I truly remember correctly. Also, don't you love the theme's and the words that go with it? Fantastic, and it's not only about a journey in space, but getting along with everyone else and respecting one another no matter the differences. 

When they first showed this game it looked extremely promising but having not seen anything of it for some time is pretty worrying. On the plus side it was delayed to come out close to the film instead of being rushed!

Is this a tied in with the movie coming next year ? * Star Trek Into Darkness * Because I think the new movie, is more interesting news than the game. :)

The most fun I ever had playing a Star Trek game was Starfleet Command III. But that was only after all the ship mods were released and it wasn't a very Star Trek inspired game except for the ship models so I don't expect to see it's like again. :(

lol at all the hate. Just enjoy it for what it is. As a trek fan starting with Next Generation I am loving the new Star Trek and its alternate timeline story arc. I look forward to playing this game on the pc.

Star Trek now I should decide if getting this on Xbox or Playstation 3 will be worth it. Movie games tend to Bomb, so will this suck more on Xbox 360 or PS3?
