THQ, Double Fine expanding quirky puzzler with downloadable pack on XBLA, PSN in early April.
Earlier this month, THQ confirmed that Double Fine would be stacking more content onto its downloadable title Stacking, but the details of that announcement didn't add up to much. That changed today, as THQ said that gamers can expect Stacking's first add-on, The Lost Hobo King, to be available through Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network in early April.
The Lost Hobo King continues the story of chimney sweeper Charlie Blackmore, who in the original game set out to rescue his family from the Baron, a nefarious industrialist. The new storyline sees Charlie venturing to the hobo kingdom of Camelfoot, where he hopes to assist his friend Levi in securing the hobo crown for his uncle, Rufus.
Gameplay will be in line with the original Stacking, where Charlie will accomplish his tasks by stacking into larger-sized dolls in order to gain their unique abilities. Charlie's options include more than 15 different dolls, all of which have new abilities in the add-on pack. The Lost Hobo King also includes new achievements and trophies.
THQ did not reveal pricing information for The Lost Hobo King. For an idea of what to expect from the expansion, check out GameSpot's review of Stacking.
OMFG can't wait!!! enjoyed stacking ALOT didn't think I would and I hope they do a decent amount of DLC, wish they would tell us how much it will be and what exactly it will include but i guess I can wait for more details.
Great! Stacking was fresh and original compared to the over-used things we see nowadays, this DLC is gonna be great!
I think this DLC should just have been part of the game. I'm tired of developers taking advantage of gamers by releasing short games and then releasing add-ons with another two of three hours of gameplay that would have made the original game a little meatier. Of course I didn't buy Stacking, I was thinking about it though. But when I played the demo... I just kinda got bored with it right away really. And you use different suits to pass through different obstacles and there are multiple solutions to every puzzle, so it takes away some of the challenge already. So, I think this is going to push me even further into the 'Don't Buy' range.
I like the game's concept, but, when I played the demo, I got dizzy. Something about it makes me dizzy, and I have no problem with FPS. :( It is sad that I wouldn't be able to enjoy this game as others.
Great news. I enjoyed this game and since I got it from PS Plus, I'm happy to purchase any DLC for this.
Stacking is definatly one of the most original games Ive played, nice to see some fresh new ideas out there, looking foward to some more.
Always enjoy the fresh and original takes on various genres that Double Fine present, and really enjoyed Stacking. Will definitely check this one out!
Really enjoyed it and look forward to this. If it is $5 or less I will probably get it. I wish companies would release things cheaper. I have bought a game I kinda want over a game I wanted lots more just because it was half the price.
