Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic PLEASE.... Many people have not played that game as it was not on PS2. I loved the Xbox version. And a PS3 HD update with Move capabilities would be great.
Amazon France posts product pages for three-game compilations set in Ubisoft's stealth-action, acrobatic adventure, due November 2.
Amazon's online storefronts in Europe have been having a bit of an issue keeping upcoming product announcements under their hats in recent months. In June, Amazon's French site gave an early heads up on Naughty Dog's Uncharted 3 and then weeks later offered the first word on the Team Ico Collection. Amazon Germany took over in July, preemptively announcing Microsoft's 4GB Xbox 360 Arcade bundle.
Into August, and Amazon France has returned with what appears to be product listings for two collections from Ubisoft. According to the Web site, Ubisoft will release a Splinter Cell trilogy and Prince of Persia trilogy on November 2 (an image of the Sam Fisher-led three pack was captured by The Sixth Axis before being pulled).
Other than saying both were being released for the PlayStation 3, the listings gave no indications of what gamers can expect from the three-game packs. They did not say whether or not the graphics for the games would be scaled up to HD, a la the God of War Collection.
The listings gave no indications of what gamers can expect from the three-game packs. Presumably, the Prince of Persia collection would include the first three titles in Ubisoft's Sands of Time trilogy, which began in 2003 and inspired a commercially apathetic Jerry Bruckheimer-produced film tie-in. Beyond this year's well-regarded Splinter Cell Conviction, the stealth action series has seen four installments, dating back to 2002.
Ubisoft had not responded to requests for comment on either listing as of press time.
prince of persia with upped graphics would be dope. and the haters could play through ww without glitches. but why no 360? :(
The Team ICO Collection in HD would be insane. Both of those games still look incredible. I don't know about a purchase though, I have them both on PS2.
I wish they'd done this hd rerelease of PoP instead of the rushed out Forgotten Sands, and used that development time and money for a new installment in PoP 2008's series. Well anywho, there's a good chance I might pick up the Splinter Cell one, I've only played Conviction, and although I know it's actionized compared to its predecessors, i want more.
hope it's on the Xbox 360 too, if it's just on the PS3 I'll get it if it's updated with better graphics, but if it's just a functioning port I'll pass
PoP would be a deffinate for me as it is one of my fave trilogies to date. Want it as much as i want Capcom to do the same for Devil May Cry as the first one was perfection
besides these two, i would love to see a jak, fatal frame, ratchet & clank, silent hill collections..
I still own my copy of Chaos theory, but if they release a pack with the first 3 (or even all 4 including the original xbox version of DA) I will definitely pick this up. Be awesome to have the early SC's with even better graphics and achievements added to them.
I wish Ubisoft would respond. I want to know if these are HD remixes or not. I hope the 360 gets them too though. Funny, I was actually just daydreaming yesterday that it would be cool if the POP games got redid in HD because I was bummed about playing Forgotten Sands and having to *finally* get around to playing the third game in the original trilogy afterwards, but in SD.
Most definitely would get both of these. I have always wanted to play the first three Prince of Persia games from last generation but never got around to it.
I always meant to get into the Splinter Cell series, but never got around to it. And if it comes out this year, that will definitely change. I might even given Persia a shot. And I hope they don't sell at a higher price than the GOW collection when it first came out.
Ubi needs to bring back the multiplayer for Chaos Theory. Hopefully they care about the fans enough to do a direct port, with graphical upgrades in this collection.
This is a very good deal. I'm definitely getting the Splinter Cell Trilogy. Now all Ubisoft needs to do is bring back the original Ghost Recon, and Ghost Recon: Island Thunder, and I'll be all set. It would be good if they could bring back the online modes too, since I can't play the original games on Xbox Live anymore.
Im buying the Splinter Cell collection because i only played chaos theory, and im buying the Prince Of persia collection because i always wanted them to be remasterd hd, i have expected pop but sc i didnt at all. great news.:D
Yeah, the old Splinter Cell games were where the magic was at. Even the weakest of that last-gen trilogy was better than either Double Agent or Conviction. Although rushed, the last-gen Double Agent was better than the 360 one. The HUD had been perfected.
I'd prefer to just pick up the original SC on Xbox. I got Pandora Tomorrow for $3 used, and could have got the original for $2. I don't doubt Chaos Theory wouldn't be much more... and that's way cheaper than any combo pack. I would however like to see the PoP pack, because most copies I've seen of all the games go for at least $10 used, and are hard to find, especially on Gamecube. Plus, where is my PoP 2008 sequel dammit?
The splinter cell collection alone is a much better deal both gameplay wise and monetary wise than Conviction already.
OMG, I'd guy both those collections in a split second if they were HD updates. Especially the PoP ones (but please, Ubisoft, fix the bugs in Warrior Within).
If the first three Prince of Persia games are getting released like that, then it would be a good time for me to get them then.
@Supabul I'm not sure, we can't discard any possibility but I don't know how much space does those game needed on a single DVD but according to this article, 4 SC games will be on a blu-ray so if we know you can have around 9GB, it'll probably need 2 discs and I'm not sure how this game business work either but I think for each disc used will mean less money for Ubisoft. I probably might be wrong. Better wait if someone can correct me :) (Sorry for bad English)
Will we be getting the xbox versions, like chaos theory on xbox was awesome, the PS2 versions of splinter cell don't look as good
I wonder if the Splinter Cell collections will come with those exclusive downloadable maps for the original Splinter Cell?
Well i never played a splinter cell game before so i now i will have a reason too. I actually bought splinter cell conviction for my PC a couple months ago but still havnt played it yet.
@MacenKrace: What's stopping them? Hell I don't know, they're probably trying to stay in Microsoft's good graces? Despite their ignoring a secondary profit. It's possible they are thinking porting the game over would shake-up the relationship they're trying to continue with MS (Multiplatform does mean more sales, but healthy relationships with game-makers can go a long way.). IIRC, there was an article a while back stating Ubisoft urges this one title remain exclusive for all the support MS has given them over the years. I guess this is Ubisoft's way of returning the favor? In anycase, it hasn't been a full year yet since the game was released. If they were going to port it it would be too soon to say. If after a year passes and it's still not on PS3 it probably will remain exclusive. That's the way these things usually go, timed-exclusives with Microsoft varies from 6 months to a year.
Never played a single game of Splinter cell, maybe this is an grea oportunity to experience it. But I'm still waiting for my Jak and Dexter Collection, Kingdom Hearts Collection and Ratchet and Clank collection ;)
meh....just another three pack of games from last generation probaly.a cheap attempt to boost retail sales.ubisoft might be doubting their upcoming games maybe.
I don't see why anyone would really want this, unless it's at a really cheap price-point and at least comes with achievements, if not HD. I mean, if I want to play the older games, I'd break out the PS2 and do it. Although, it might be fun for new fans of the series.
