South Park: The Stick of Truth out March 5

E3 2012: South Park RPG launches on March 5, 2013, with DLC heading to Xbox 360 first.

LOS ANGELES--South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone appeared onstage at Microsoft's E3 conference to present the debut trailer for South Park: The Stick of Truth, the South Park role-playing game being developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

At the conference, it was announced that the downloadable content for the game will come to Xbox Live first. The downloadable content comprises three downloadable episode packs: "standalone adventures featuring their own stories, taking you to places in South Park you've never seen before," says Microsoft.

Two preorder bonus sets were revealed alongside the conference: the Good Times With Weapons Pack, including the Samurai Costume, Cartman's Kick-Ass Sai, and the Bulrog Chicken Attack; and the Xbox-exclusive Mysterion Superhero Pack, which includes the Superhero Costume, Dagger of Cthulhu, and Mysterion Special Attack.

South Park: The Stick of Truth on the Xbox 360 will also feature Kinect functionality so you can taunt enemies and launch attacks with voice recognition. "Finally, for the first time in South Park history," says the press release, "you can call Cartman a 'fat ass,' and he'll respond."

At first when they announced this I was like meh. Now after seeing a lot more about it I am stoked. It will be hillarious at the very least. That alone will probably make me want to play through it more than once, but probably at least a few months apart(although it is an RPG, so I may have to replay it right away). I am a visual person, so reading about it did nothing for me, but seeing it sure did.

Can't wait to sit in front of my tv yelling at Cartman and actually get a respond, hope they extend it to more than 'fat ass' though that is a classic

Not surprising. Matt and Trey have been long time fans of Xbox.

@Longini I know, game is months away and they already have DLC for it.  Why is it not part of the original game?

@rikerman Yup, that's the main problem.  The gaming industries has decided it would be more profitable to remove content from the original release and sell it as DLC.  This, in my book, is piracy in another way.

I was really waiting for that title, but with that news, it just pisses me off.

Question: why would they release this the same day as the Tomb Raider reboot.? I dunno about everyone, but I can speak for myself and say that if I had just $60 to spend on a game and I had to choose between the titles, I would choose the Tomb Raider reboot. Granted, the game looks fun, but it just doesn't appeal to me for some reason. Love the show though. :P

@Jyakotu I know your problem, if only it was possible to buy games after the launch date...
