Sound Byte: Meet the Composer - Nitin Sawhney
Liked the music to Enslaved: Odyssey to the West? We introduce you to composer Nitin Sawhney.
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a beautiful action adventure game set in a future where war has ravaged the planet. The visuals are eye-catching, and the subtle audio does an excellent job of complementing what you see onscreen. For more details on the game, and our review, please read here. Thanks to our GameSpot UK team and our video crew here, we were able to get an interview with composer Nitin Sawhney, who also worked on the soundtrack to Heavenly Sword.
Sound Byte is GameSpot's game music blog, which covers every aspect of music in games, including interviews with top game music composers and discussions of new and classic game soundtracks. The blog is usually updated on Fridays, but things might happen midweek too. Check back Friday for an interview with the musicians working on Rock Band 3! Have a question or suggestion? Unreal soundtrack.
nittin, you da man... love your work!
Wow, sounds like he's having an amazing career!
Wow, Nitin's doing video game composing now? Awesome. I have some of his first albums from the UK... fantastic stuff!
Enslaved has really good music.
I love the music between monkey trying to catch the dragonfly.
I'm sure Enslaved will have an excellent score, since Heavenly Sword had an excellent score; and, it's the same composer.
Really love this blog. It's so great to take time to appreciate these composers and their music. To have someone like Nitin making music for games sets such a high standard for the medium. Can't wait to play Enslaved.
I was just playing the game and talking about how excellent the music is, and then I see this article and I just had to make a comment. I love your work.
So far I have been thinking at several parts in the game that music just flipping fantastic...serious epic music 5 stars. I'm only on chapter 6 I believe .
