Sound Byte: Meet the Composer - Command & Conquer 4's James Hannigan
From Command & Conquer 4 to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, find out how James Hannigan handles it all.
Last week, we met with Dead Space composer Jason Graves--who also contributed to Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight's soundtrack. This week, we introduce you to James Hannigan, an award-winning British composer who has been working in video games for more than 15 years. A long-time pianist, James initially worked in television but decided to move to the video game world when music in games migrated from midi and chip music to digital audio. Our UK team met with James last year, and if you want to listen to the podcast, you can do so by click on the link! But for the video interview, check it out below.

The guy can compose music. But I have to agree, the C&C Tiberium series has fallen, I can't believe they managed to mess up so much on the 4th one. In my opinion, the 3rd one is the best (scrin RULE!). How could they NOT add them in the fourth one, because last time I checked, the Scrin guy said: "Prepare a full invasion force... EARTH... WILL FALL..." Stupid EA and stupid bureaucratic bull. Care too much for profits than quality. Anyway, go James Hannigan!!!
i'd have preferred to hear his evil genius and soviet march or Freelancer tracks in the background
This is a little off topic, but I always wanted to know who made the music for C&C 3 - Generals. That soundrack is oscar-worthy.
well the c&c series has been going downhill storyline wise consistently RA 1 is my fav out of the franchise. the only advancments i have seen in the franchise is graphicly.
I loved Hannigan's work on Evil Genius and Red Alert 3 in particular. Soviet March!
C&C is a wonderful game but not the lastest one but i still enjoy the series and hope sooner or later it gets a reboot espically the gdi/nod series or somethin new comes around
I actually felt the music of C&C4 felt waaaaay too much like Star Wars. The Nod music was excellent but the GDI tracks felt too much like Star Wars. It just wasn't C&C... C&C 4 was the worst way for Command & Conquer to go out.
Fair enough, the music from C&C4 was the ONLY decent thing about it.
