Sony's "hardcore" gamer showpiece for PlayStation Move makes its long-awaited debut later this year.
Sorcery finally has a release date, as Sony has announced the game will debut in North American stores on May 22. The company confirmed the news in a post today on its Official PlayStation Blog.
In Sorcery, players control the apprentice magician Finn, who accidentally trespasses into the realm of the dead, putting his world in peril. Players will have to take control of Finn and his arsenal of spells (cast with motions of the PlayStation Move controller) to thwart the forces of evil and save the world.
One of the first games Sony used to show off the PlayStation Move at the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo, Sorcery was designed for a "hardcore" gamer audience. The action game has been designed with a combat system allowing for spell combos and is also incorporating gesture-based puzzles to mix up the pacing a bit.

The hell....News flash harry pot-heads...A wand is waggled, nothin much to it. As for how long one can keep an arm up playing this, I've seen people get mild strokes playing the Kinect, so this wouldn't be that bad at all. Besides, played most of the Move games, including the LotR and Killzone 3 all the way, and experienced the game way differently thanks to it. Not to mention, u don't exactly need to keep ur hand up the whole time. U're not controlling traffic after all...
This was one of the PS Move games I was really counting on with hope of similar games in the future. Kinda late to come out but I think I'll still pick it up.
Not only is this game way too late, but it is way behind in the times. What happened to treating the wand like your hand? That game just looks like waggle combat.
This is the one game that I've been really, really wanting to play on the Move. Playstation Move hero's was great, but this should be even better. As for not being able to play more than 15 minutes. perhaps playing this game will help. Maybe it will put more strength into them.:)
I can't see anyone being able to play this for long periods of time. Try constantly waving your arm about for longer than 15minutes, now imagine trying to finish this game. People might get the wrong impression if you've got one arm more buff than the other..
As much as I would love this game to succeed, I can't imagine it scoring higher than a 6.0....it's been forever. Who do they think they are??? Polyphony Digital? lol
I finally ditched my Move stuff, as much as I loved the tech, because it was so completely unsupported.
I guess if this game turns out to be good enough that I need it, it will be cheap to buy a couple of used controllers on Craigslist. It's not like used Move stuff is going to be all worn out, since there's virtually nothing to play with it.
Kinda two years too late on this one Sony. The motion control craze is almost over so bringing this game now kinda makes it feel outdated. This would had been a major title in late 2010 or early 2011 but now in 2012, I'd already got Skyrim for all my sorcery need.
I am so getting this game. I've been waiting on it Sorcery every since The PSM first came out.
@CCGR_Pheonix No. It was revealed at the same time as the move, to show the hardware's capabilities. It was more like a tech demo to show what the move could do.
Well, if I still had the Move I might have cared still. But traded it in because there was jack for games for it.
Aggravating combat overwhelms the elements that could have made Sorcery enjoyable.
