is this compatible with GOW COO AND GOW GOS on psp cause i have them on PSP but does the save file work with PS3 hd version of the game ?
New line will let gamers play PSP titles on their PS3s, take console sessions on the go; Monster Hunter Portable 3rd to be first offering.
This weekend, Sony announced the PSP Remaster series for the PlayStation 3. The new line of titles will deliver on a potential long desired by owners of both platforms--the ability to transfer a PS3 game save to a PSP and continue the game on the go.
According to Sony, the PSP Remaster series will consist of PSP games remastered for the PS3 with high-definition graphics on a Blu-ray disc. These titles may also have other new features, such as downloadable content and stereoscopic 3D support. Game saves from the PS3 versions of titles will be fully compatible with the PSP editions and vice versa, allowing players to transfer their console game saves to the portable and the other way around. PS3 and PSP players will also be able to jump into wireless ad hoc multiplayer sessions with each other.
The PSP Remaster series will debut in Japan with Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Ver. from Capcom. As the title implies, the game will be a high-definition remake of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, which has been wildly successful in Japan. The title has shipped over 4.5 million units in the island nation alone since it went on sale in December 2010. No date was given for the release date of the PSP Remaster edition of the game.
As long as this means I'll be able to play Portable 3rd on my PS3 I'll be happy... provided they extend this service to America soon. Especially since my PSP went kaput recently and I can't really afford a new one.
I agree with Default_Usenam but i hope with will be able to use the umds on it since i dont have any downloaded psp games
@SLRMC93 "Hrmmmmmm, I wonder if either of the Grand Theft Auto "stories" will be on the remake block?" They were already ported to the PS2, so a remake will probably not happen unless there is demand for it or Sony gets too greedy. (Hopefully not the latter scenario.)
This was a good idea. Kudos to Sony! Now... they just have to make sure they don't make the same mistake with the PSPGo... (not having enough games on time). I would vote; Dissidia Birth By Sleep Crisis Core Daxter GOW Ghost of Sparta, Chains of Olympus Tactics Ogre Loco Roco... etc etc
come on now the games that definitely need doin r dissidia kingdom hearts star ocean 1&2 ff crisis core dexter killzone
noooo!!!!! i never wanted this! we all want the english version of mhp3rd like hell! capcom scewed us again!!!!!
what no one seems to get is that it will not just be the base games that were made for ps3, say if kh bbs was remastered, they would add the final mix extras plus more. I am guessing for MH they will add new missions and even new monsters.
So wait will monster hunter portable 3rd be on the psp or ps3. Because if its on the Ps3 sony will make a lot of us fanboys angry :(
This is a cool idea. Hopefully it works as easily as this post makes it. I just wonder what titles could they be looking at to make into a HD Ps3 version, or a standard graphic Psp copy.
And for ppl without PSP's, this could possibly be a good way for gamers to buy the handheld finally, and help Sony out financially by increasing sales of a system that is soon to be on it's way out and frankly of no interest to anyone any longer...
Since these will essentially be ports of older games and NOT new content, Sony can't expect ppl to pay full BD price for them, unless maybe they'll include a voucher or something for a digital download of the PSP version. Now THAT may be something that will entice gamers to buy at full price. If not, then they should cost considerably less. $40 maybe?
Are they willingly trying to piss MH players off? First mh on ps2, second on psp, then wii, then xbox and now MHthird for psp just in japan and ps3 in the rest of the world, so that the ones without ps3 can get screwed. Thanks sony-capcom, i love you both!
I'll enjoy Peacewalker on PS3, it's one drawback was the lack of second analog stick for better movement and shooting. It took me 42 minutes to beat the Peacewalker on my own, i had blisters on my thumb that took a month or two to go away. I wish it was a full reworking, not an upscale, but it's better than nothing. I liked Peacewalker better than MGS4 overall, so this is nothing but a great thing.
you not going to be playing PS3 games on PSP. your playing PSP games on PS3. Why would SONY put in trophy support.
Sony should of did this Day 1 PS3, or no later than when they decide to remove BC. guess it takes Nintendo Cafe ideas to get the ball rolling. ^-^ ;)
Three games that they MUST have, or I am convinced that sony has no idea what people like to play. KH birth by sleep, MGS peace walker, GOW ghosts of sparta end of story.
This needs some remastered PS1 love too. It would be great to play some old classics like Vagrant Story, The Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, and Final Fantasy VII in glory HD too.
So this is SONY's master plan to gain dominance of the gaming industry. Re-release old games from the PSP to the PS3. Good luck with that, can't wait to see that bottom line get even lower
*sigh* Do people really not read the articles before posting a comment? This is NOT a new system being released. They are taking select PSP games and remaking them in HD for the PS3 and releasing them on blu-ray discs, just like they've been doing with older PS2 games. Those new PS3 games will be compatible with the PSP version, so you can transfer your saves back and forth between them. It's not that difficult to understand if you read what they say.
Well, heck... If you absolutely refuse to keep your platform viable by porting dozens and dozens of your PS1 & PS2 titles to it in a reasonably timely manner - or at all - why not do the reverse!... You know... for half a dozen or so games... three years after it makes sense... Just sayin'...
I considered buying a PSPGo solely to play Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker with a Dualshock 3 controller. This is even better, though. If they'd have done this years ago, even if i was just the ability to play digital PSP titles on the PS3, the detrimental effectsa that piracy had on the the system and developers would definitely have been reduced...oh well.
Daxter, Crisis Core, Ghost of Sparta, Chains of Olympus, Birth By Sleep, Peace Walker, GTA Stories, R&C Size Matters... Please and Thank You.
Now this feature would be great for sports game for me. I remember way back when, when MBL: The Show 07 or 08 came out. I already had the PSP version & just got me a PS3. I loved the game & the PS3 version looked awesome but I didn't want to have two copies of the same game. I already had put in alot of time on my RTTS and didn't want to start over. The sales person convinced me that I can transfer saves between the PS3 & PSP. I bought it, hook, line & sinker. Boy was I mad when I found out it wasn't possible. But the game was sooo good on the PS3, I got over it quickly.
I'd like to follow up on that douche message by saying - there is absolutely nothing worse than milking a product, redesigning games over and over, and spewing out DLC that was already ready from the beginning.. But, this is another case: PSP was a great console, that didn't start marketing itself right before it's death, i mean did you see those aweful commercials with the black kid from Role Models? It had some seriously good games, but many people turned to the DS with reason, so the fact that Sony is remaking these games for the PS3 is quite a great deal! They obviously know that people are done with the PSP, and especially since the NGP is coming out, so they are offering to make us great game titles - i doubt we are gonna see them at a 60 dollar price tag - that would be a dumb move!
@ Woonar "So I have to buy my games again if I want to play them on the PS3? Pass." Yes, sort of like when you buy a game for another console, that's how it works :) Honostly what were you expecting? If you've already gone through the game then you won't even be missing anything, so what's the problem -
with the NGP coming out why bother with a PSP Remaster. The idea of playing PSP games on the PS3 is cool...
@ml_paladin888 nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Bad news there. Oh well, still a nice idea.
@shaks101 i think there was another article *somewhere* that claimed, based on a source from SCEJ, that there would not be trophy support for these "remasters"
