Sony's tiniest games have made a big noise, as the company today announced that titles in the Minis line have been downloaded over 1 million times globally since debuting nine months ago.

Mini is the new huge.
Mini is the new huge.

The software line was announced at GamesCom 2009 in August and hit the market alongside Sony's UMD-less PSP Go, which launched October 1. The Minis line, which is composed of titles generally priced under $10 and weighing in around 100 MB in size, later expanded to the PlayStation 3 via a firmware update.

Additionally, the Minis section of the PlayStation Store has seen many updates since it launched last fall. The number of titles in the Minis library has expanded from 15 at launch to more than 85 presently from over 50 developers.

According to Sony, the 10 most popular Minis titles are:

1. Age of Zombies
2. Monopoly
3. Fieldrunners
4. Zombie Tycoon
5. Bloons
6. Spot the Differences!
7. Pinball Fantasies
8. Mahjongg Artifacts: Chapter 2
9. Yetisports Pengu Throw
10. Breakquest

Though there were no Minis added to this week's PlayStation Store Update, Sony promises more titles are on the way, including Namco Bandai's Pac-Man Championship Edition.
