Sonic Lost World out this October
3D platformer exclusive to Wii U and 3DS; Sonic Team head admits game's similarities to Super Mario Galaxy series.
Sonic Lost World will be released on October 22, Nintendo and Sega have announced.
The 3D platformer is exclusively for the Wii U and 3DS. The game's developer and current head of Sonic Team, Takashi Iizuka, admitted in an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine UK that Sonic Lost World has similarities to the Super Mario Galaxy series.
"With Lost World we wanted to evolve how Sonic works in 3D. When you think about a 3D level, it's still limited--the sides are limited--so we talked about making levels as cubes or tubes. Expanding the sides around 360 degrees enables players to take many paths, not just two or three. We ended up with a tune stage and realized we were a bit close to Mario Galaxy!"
