pc's prob? hackers, but imo MW2's multiplayer w/o hackers, would be like 10x better than black ops, i mean game mechanics, MW2 is better, hackers just ruin it thats all, and try not to use VAC :D
LA Times sources claim Infinity Ward is receiving big-time help on this year's Call of Duty installment, said to be due in November.
Sledgehammer Games formed under Activision's auspices in 2009, and it became apparent quite quickly that the studio would be working on the publisher's massively popular Call of Duty franchise. However, much confusion has surrounded the nature of Sledgehammer's project, with it initially billed as an action adventure, only to later take on the appearance of a first-person shooter.
Now, an explanation for that confusion appears to have surfaced, courtesy of the Los Angeles Times. According to the newspaper's online blog, Sledgehammer Games, along with Raven Software, is assisting Infinity Ward on the development of the as-yet-unannounced Modern Warfare 3. The LA Times goes on to note that the assist has caused Sledgehammer to delay the start of its own COD spin-off, which is rumored to fall within the sci-fi genre.
Though Infinity Ward handled the two original billion-dollar-grossing Modern Warfare games on its own, the studio's future was called into question after the high-profile firings of former CEO Vince Zampella and president Jason West. The studio also reportedly lost more than 30 developers in the fallout of that controversy, which has spawned numerous lawsuits. Activision has also insisted that the drama has not affected Infinity Ward's capabilities.
As for specifics, Sledgehammer is reportedly "equally sharing duties" with Infinity Ward on Modern Warfare 3's single-player mode. Raven Software, which had previously been attached to the Call of Duty franchise in a downloadable-content creating capacity, is said to be handling Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer mode. The LA Times' sources indicate that Modern Warfare 3 will arrive in 2011, during the franchise's customary November window.
Activision had not returned a request for comment as of press time.
if u guys deal with the PC hackers i bet the pc version of the game will be sold out even faster than console version many people ditch PC because of hackers
wow, activision's really scared of battlefield 3 aren't they? Well they should be, battlefield's like 5 years ahead of CoD atm.
I'm really excited to see what happens in MW3, the cliffhanger at the end of modern warfare 2 was total bullcrap. HURRY UP WITH MW3!
@superbard Zombies is the same as World at War, no new advancements were really made other than new weapons and putting a unique twist on playable characters. I'm glad Infinity Wards COD creators are starting there own company with EA. Maybe they will throw in a project with Dice and combine their best to create the greatest. Battlefield BC 2 really added some fun combat systems to the mix. Someones camping! BAM grenade launcher fixed that. Now his spot is gone haha. Also, check out the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo, Sure its a rough copy with its problems but, in my opinion, it is what Halo Reach should have been.
WHY due in november, im not going to be able to play Black Ops until JULY, give me some time to play it!
It would be insanely funny if this game ends up bombing in reviews, but I bet Activision has a plan to make sure it doesn't bomb.
I love the intensity of the campaigns. Mainly the Modern Warfare games. They just need better stories, longer campaigns, and deeper gameplay. They are starting to get old, unfortunately.
Call of Duty needs to introduce some kind of intellect. I'm extremely tired of basic running, gunning and woohoo I have a out balanced killstreak reward, plus not to mention, the hit detection is retarded. We want something new MW2 and Black ops are getting boring fast with their dull maps and unoriginal DLCs.
@acsam12304 So is this a bad? I am not even a call of duty fan boy as others call it.. have not even played Black ops yet.. It is not a wrong thing to release a franchise year after year, especially if they are quality blockbuster hits..
I like CoD and everything, but it's seriously beginning to feel like waiting a full year to try your aunt's fruit cake all over again.
@ LondonGamer986...If you think COD "started" to be good with COD4, then you're an idiot if you're not a little kid. Have you ever even played the first 2 COD games? COD 1 and 2 are arguably the best WWII games ever made. Its also pretty obvious you dont played competitive because if you did you would think COD 1 and 2 are the best just for the fact that they both take 100x more skill than every other COD game, with the exception of COD4. COD4 took some skill with the right settings, but still not too close to 1 and 2.
@jansong1 same here. no more COD for me. hard to say but if you played one of them you played them all. all the games are the same but a different story line in a different setting. the game play is all the same, the way the game runs is the same, the looks are the same, the way you take damage the same, the single player is the same short campaign. i mean really. if they make a COD game that gives you a little more open world freedom to roam around and to gives you the option to take the objectives the way you want, and not how the game wants you to do it there way, then ill maybe check it out. but other then that no more $60 for them anymore.
@SIDEFX1 there has been one COD game year after year. so far. (most of the games came out on November) COD: 2004 COD: 2- 2005 COD: 2 Big Red 1- 2005 COD:3- 2006 COD:4- 2007 COD: World At War- 2008 COD: MW2,- 2009 COD: Black Ops- 2010 and now COD: MW 3- 2011
There has not been that many COD games,, Even if there was; So what?? It is not like there is much more competition out there..
I haven't played any CoD games except for the first one. Frankly it doesn't interest me at the slightest due to the rehash gameplay. Yet Raven and Sci-Fi - I'm listening...
@gameking5000 it may only be the third MW game but this will be the 8th COD game. Now I do realize there is 2 companies making COD games but does that mean they really have to make one every year. Every COD game is almost exactly the same as the one before it, the only real difference is the story of the game. And even if this is only the third game of the series i still think that they are dragging the series on because what is the new one gonna be, just another Russian terroristtype guy and you are just gonna be another new guy with Soap and Price so i actually think that they should make a Future Warfare with Bungie. It would be like the best things bout halo combined with COD
COD is a very good game but do they really need to make a new one every single year. Thats why I think I like Halo better they come out every four years well except ODST but i guess COD makes more money by making a new one every year but Halo makes u wanting it more.
@gameking5000 by that reasoning we would all still be playing a pixelated version of Doom... "if your not moving forward, your moving backwards."
Everyone seems to hate COD for no distinct and good reason. It isn't a bad game, it has received many high reviews, it's fun enough and to some addictive. Your not forced to buy it you know. There are many yearly serial games as well. You can also say that they're the same as last year. It's safer for Activison to do that and not lose customers (and money).
hey guys, forget the prospect of a 2 year gap between cod games, forget the prospect of them making the camaign longer, forget the prospect of them fixing the problem of campers and noobs, A cod game WILL be released every single year and it will be no bigger or better than the last, and it'll be that way until a new series comes out and no ones interested in cod...
gameking5000 CoD has been around for ages. The original games were fun but now since the MW games it's getting very stale, it's the same damn thing every year. Oh and here is the difference between CoD and Battlefield....Battlefield is more fun. At least there you are more tactical instead of running around like a monkey on crack.
@gameking5000 why dont you hate on everyone thats posted a comment? stop being a stupid fanboy and just chill.
@wetcardboard Accuracy, im with you, but KDR means nothing, specially with the amount of campers you find on both games. They prefer to sit and wait the whole match and finish something like 5-2 and then claim their KDR is good. Fair enough the maps on Black Ops are not sniper friendly but you can still pull it off if you have the skill. I personally do have a sniper loadout which I use on occasion and I do very well. The new map pack claims to have a couple of sniper friendly maps so I guess I will wait and see. MW2 made me lose faith on sniping because pure, skilled snipers like myself had to withstand seeng peopple running around with a big ass rifle and taking a shot like they were using a pistol. Black Ops took that out of the equation by making sniping the way it should be. There is nothing more rewarding than holding your breath, wait for the perfect moment, and splatter an enemies brains all over from a distance.
I will not buy this game, though Raven on the list tempts me more than just about anything could... If they were doing the campaign, this would be way different, as Wolfenstein (newest) has a better campaign than any COD game ever has (the exception being the original COD)
@mclebron23 Not everyone who thought COD4 was the best is a kid. In my opinion Call of duty started and stopped being good at COD4.
I'll admit, I'm skeptical about three studios working on one game. Also, I got CoD4 as a present, didn't expect anything great, looked like an average FPS to me, but it was actually great. I took a chance on MW2 and - unlike a lot of people it seems - I thought it was also a great game. I didn't buy Black Ops because it was more of the same far too soon. I wish they'd slow down, because at this point they've lost me. It'll be cool to see what Respawn's first game is
@BigJohnWV That is a really ridiculous comment to make considering this is only the third MW installment. Look at how many games are in the Halo franchise yet it is one of the best video games series of all time. Battlefield is another example. So many spin offs, expansions and DLC is in it. Even a new series based on it (Battlefield Bad Company).
Well at least SOMETHING new is going to happen to MW3. No more of West and Zampella so the game should be slightly better. Sledgehammer Games and Raven software, I hope, add something new.
