Skylanders Giants due this fall

I'm 32 years old and I play the first with my best friend all the time. We already plan on being at the store when it opens for giants :P Sad I know, but hey we love it lol

what a shocker and we all know they are going to milk this to death just like what they are doing with cod and that one music game that they have

I saw this coming. Just by looking at the game, you can see how a sequel was practically already being made before the original released. The original was alright, but it definititly needs an upgrade. Lack of jumping, short storyline, and shallow battle mode is what needs to change. Put all that stuff in, and I'll buy it. Oh yeah, and those new figures better not be uber-expensive, they sound like a money-sucker.

For those wanting a "proper Spyro title", play the 3DS version. It's classic platforming like the original Spyro titles.

If you come think about it, this is a really good marketing technique. I'm not saying that I like it but whether we it or not, business is business. I can think of another company that has thought of combining toys and a video game. Smart but damn, I still agree with @Gelugon_baat. Another expensive toy that kids bug their parents to buy for their entertainment.

Looks like Activision has just found themselves another new cash cow.

@CptRexKramer Your right who ever came up with this money making scheme deserves a medal it's basicly DLC aimed at kids "buy this toy and get a new character for your game" Gotta ask having never played it myself when you get new figures do you have to dwnload them or are they already on the disk?

Expensive toys for children, that's where the real money is at.

I was rather disappointed with the first, yes the characters and portal worked good, but it didn't really feel like there was enough to do, and with them expecting a sequel this quickly doesnt get my hopes up.

I wish this had been around when I was a kid. I'm far too sensible to spend that kind of money on a game now... ...unless it has plastic instruments... forgot about GH :)

is this game is for console or is like a DLC to skylanders: Spyro's Adventures

Skylanders was a surprisingly fun and good game. Will definately look into this. Yes the game gets pricy if you buy a lot of the toys but you really only need one of each element if you want to see all the areas. I can say though it was fun enough I will probably pick up the sequel

This was expected given the boatloads of money Skylanders made Activision. It would be harder to be angry at the game's business model if it wasn't the high-quality title it is.

I liked the game. It is great to play with my 5 year old. However i am extremely frustrated trying to collect the characters. Specifically the Air element. It is suprising that Activision is not pumping them out in order to capitalize on the market while it hot. As commented previously this is a CASH COW.... the starter is about $60 CDN... each of the characters originally 7.99 CDN now are 9.99 each. With 32 possible characters and some extra level stuff at 19.99 to get a complete set you are looking about 300 CDN..... if you look up skylanders in the dictionary it should read "a method to suck money out of parents wallets". Overall i have definitely played worse games with my kids. peace.

Activision has failed to meet demand for the first one. You have to buy from the scalpers on Ebay if you want to find them. Forget all of that. I am not going to disappoint my kid again with the sequel .

Now if they can only do a PROPER spyro installment, that would actually be worth buying. *sigh* A guy can dream can't he?

My 8 year old saved up his money and just bought this. From an 8 year olds point of view, the game is a blast. From mine...... ehh. I'll tell you what, though. The guys and gals that came up with this created a HUGE cash cow. The starter pack was around 50 pounds. Then on top of that, there's something like 30 figures you can buy at around 10 pounds. Not to mention the variant version that were made in limited numbers, and I'm sure they are not cheap. Then to top it off, at the moment, most stores around the UK have run their stocks dry. No figures to be found. I've seen some figures on the secondary market being sold for 70 pounds. Cash cow, indeed.

Skylanders was a fun, yet flawed title, hope the sequel fixes the problems weighing the first one down.
