Silent Hill HD Collection delayed further - Report

Silent hill forever! Love the silent hill 1... 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7! LOL And downpour i am loving it already!

RE: LilRoss2k3 The 100,000's of people who will buy it on launch day care. Just because you don't like a particular genre of game doesn't mean other people don't want to get their hands on it ASAP. The Silent Hill series wouldn't have been able to go for this long if people didn't like it. Go and troll elsewhere please :)

SH HD Collection and Downpour are both being released on March 29 in my country, can't wait I'm gonna pre-order both soon. With Farcry 3 being released the next day I'm gonna be busy :)

I didn't realize so many people disliked Silent Hill. My comment said Downpour will be awesome and the HD remakes would be epic and I got 9 thumbs down wtf?

I was about to yell "NOOOOO!", until I noticed that it seems to have only been pushed back a couple of weeks. Well at least it'll still come out in the same month, though.

Atleast release SH4 on PSN and xbox live, then atleast the whole set can be playable on the same console, except xbox that wold be misshing the orginal. Silent hill 2 was my favorite, but SH1 and SH3 go together. I wish the fan base was bigger to support the remake of thSH1 HD, and it would cost much to add SH4, don't understand why this isn't on. I hope the voice overs was a good move, because I never had an issue with the orginal voice actors. All in all, I can live with it if your downpour is a solid game... looks like there are alot of unlockables in the game for the side quests and specific endings, I just hope it opens up usuable stuff that's in the game and making of the game footage, etc

I prefer my old versions for PS2 of SH 2 and 3 after I saw what became of RE Code Veronica and 4 HD versions. PS2 converted games in PS3 doesn't work without little glitches here and there and, although graphically they look better, it doesn't take too long to notice that lots of PS2 graphics are still there.

It would be sweet if Konami would give the same treatment to the original Silent Hill as Capcom did for Resident Evil remake on the Gamecube last gen.

I love the Silent Hill series up to 4... Anything past that completely missed the point of Silent Hill. The new one I'll have to wait to see. Cautious optimism

I feel like the HD collections of all of these amazing games should be complete. I haven't had the chance to play all of the original Silent Hill games, but I am sure they are amazing. So, going off of that logic, why wouldn't they re-make all of them? The answer is simple. It's because that would simply take too much money and time. Take the recent HD re-makes of Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica X for example. The original games are great, but after playing with the improved controls and camera angles of RE4, they are a tad difficult to revisit. It breaks my heart to see this happen to so many great games, but it honestly can't be helped. Perhaps it's time for us to let go, and keep these games where they belong, in our fondest memories.

I'm hoping we get the "REmake" treatment for 1

Boycott Konami!

Komami never used Guy Chi or whatever his name is for the voice again of James in Silent Hill 2 or the original voice actors. This includes Silent Hill 3 as well. That really sucks. Also they never thought of naming the series Silent Hell? WTF? Give me a break.

@brunorr But you can't call it a true collection if it doesn't have the main game that started it all. That is why I didn't buy the Metal Gear Solid HD collection, because it didn't have MGS1. Konami had no problems making the 8 bit Metal Gears look good in that collection but they couldn't make MGS1 HD?

okaaaay, i don't even have a ps3, and i have to wonder... Why no SH4 and why new voice-overs it's totally unnecessary

Stop asking for SH1 HD. They won't make it because it would require assembling a huge team and building the game from the ground up. The costs would be the same as for a new game. On the other hand, SH 2 and 3 HD are just the PS2 games with improved textures, resolution and new voices. And no, there will never be a HD collection for PC. SH PC games are already HD on the PC, just crank your resolution up. Believe me, they look gorgeous. There are even widesceen unofficial patches on the net.

@Sokol4ever Why would the MGS collection be a good example when it misses the first game too? I understand it contains more games though such as the good addition of MGS 3 subsistence which then has the 2 old metal gear games but it's stilling missing the original.

"Thelfym" Mass Effect 3 is such a big game players will still be playing it 2 weeks later, your target audiance for silent hill and mass effect are different, though some players like both genre. I doubt the change in date will help increase sales, at the 20th RE is released so they are going to be competing with something, yea it's not as big as ME3 but either way it won't get the hype of these games because it' a re-release collection and your highest market will be your previous fans to the series. Plus, I would go to a ME3 midnight release, not to get ME3 but to get my pre-order copy of Silent Hill HD. This was the only time for a silent hill game to get a midnight release:o(

@omidimilad the games are already out for pc with higher resolution than the ps2 version but not widescreen support, but maybe some day the will hit steam store

@scarletsnake I agree that Metal Gear has become quite washed up and stale, and that Snakes Revenge was the last good installment before the series went bust. Silent Hill I have the belief will do extremely well with Downpour, which will bring back the moodiness and thrills back to the core gameplay. Silent Hill's HD collection will be epic ownage too. Who agrees that video gaming will stay strong and RISE AGAIN, DEFEATING CINEMA WITH THE SUPERIOR INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT, AND NOT PASSIVE ZOMBIE VIEWING?? HIT THUMBS UP IF YOU SUPPORT THIS

This change I feel only hurts Silent Hills true fans, as most people could care less. I for one was really looking forward to playing this prior to Downpour:o( I work at a college and it's Spring break so it was a perfect week to replay the whole series, I can still play it as i own 2-5 on xbox and 1 on PS3, but I was looking forward the HD version. Konami bad change for your fans, I wish all these delays where due to the addition to SH1 and SH4. Increase the price and add these two to the collection, just don't like the patial collection and now this delay... one thing after another to hurt the fans. Don't disappoint with Downpour and I'm hoping the 3D enhances the experience, Bring this series back to where it needs to be and please let it be a solid game.

It should also have Silent Hill 1. Why do they keep delaying these things? How hard is it to keep on schedule. Beter be totally worth it, anyway it's not that far. Hope they come up with some new gaes sometime soon. Kind of getting tired of the same old stuff being made over again. Anyway, i'll probably enjoy it so I can't wait!

Remember when companies released great sequels and prequels year after year? Now they're just releasing the old games on current gen ports cause their new games are so bad. Silent Hill series has been dead for a long time, so is Metal Gear unfortunately. They just keep pushing out soulless crap with a popular franchise's logo on it. PS2 was the golden age of 3D gaming in my opinion. With the rise in budgets, developers are scared to try new stuff they just want guarantee results which is an impossibility. The results they get are horrible.

i wish they delayed it to add in an HD Silent Hill 1 and Silent hill 4... you know.. the ACTUAL collection. Leaving out Silent Hill 1 at LEAST, makes no sense since its tied to Silent Hill 3...

New voice overs? Why!? Luckily, I still own 1-3 (and a ps2). To bad they won't redo PS1 games into HD and instead post them to PSn (SEN)

@majidok The voice over thing was a whole issue with Konami not wanting to pay the original actors again, plus they kind of ripped them off first time round, so both parties weren't budging!!! But the internets banded together, everyone shook hands, and the option for original voice over and music is apparently now included :-) (Which I personally love, the new voices were terribad, but that might be because I completed original SH2 over ten times back in the day)

It should have included silent hill 1. You still get two great games but after MGS HD Collection, other companies need to learn how to properly make HD collections. Waiting on price drop for this one.

Does anybody know why the totally new voice overs ? I haven't played the 3rd and have only played through parts of 2 , was there any problems with the voice overs ? I really appreciate a message .

A true HD collection of this would be: Silent Hill, Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3, Silent Hill 4 The Room and Silent Hill Shattered Memories. 5 games for the price of one game, this would of been a better choice. Shame of the delay was planning of completing the HD collection before Downpour releases.

I would rather they made a new HD version of SH1. The in-game graphics would look like the old cutscene graphics.

I was on the fence about getting this anyway, but that gives me more time to think about it.

Include SH4, then ill get it, otherwise it feels half-assed.

I still think they should include number 4.

Well Metal Gear HD is coming to PSVita, I hope this does too!
