Congrats but I have never played one of his games.

he's done civ series, original railroad tycoon (which spawned the massive list of tycoon games), pirates!, alpha centauri, etc. and congrats! to sid, He's definitely one of my most respected game designers, when it comes to making intelligent games.

That's great news but he's only known for 2 series as far as I have heard, and Civ is a great series. To have the most honors though is kind of odd, considering other big name guys out there.

He CREATED a complete new genre of game that not only captivated the player but provided an experience that had never been done before to this extent as well as being very well designed. Whereas 'miyamoto' simply took a platform game e.g. Manic Miner / Jet Set Willy (ZX Spectrum), changed the character into a Plumber and added colour!

Good for him, the man deserves it for his design genius. As for CR, meh... I'll stick with Civ IV, that is more than enough right now. CR will probably just be polished and play smooth, but just be a dumbed down version for game pads and players alike.

i just checked on the civ site, its only america thatsgot a month delay, its still coming out in europe, on 6th of june, which is good, but if u really dont wanna wait a month and u have a ps3, u can just order one from europe or get it from ebay from europe, since ps3 games arnt region locked this wont be a problem for ps3 owners whos been really looking forward to this game... like me!

Sid deserves whatever he gets. The man is a genius, he knows what the players want and he always delivers in the best fashion that only he can give.

Cool, I just met the guy yesterday. My friend's father is an artist at Firaxis and I go with him to work sometimes. Yesterday I ran into Sid, pretty cool. They were demo-ing Revolution for some magazine guys that were there.

As much as I like Meier, this is one strange record. More awards than anyone else? I know Guinness Book or Records was never subjective but this is really subjective.

civilization has got to be the longest game i played. match that is. i couldnt sit through some other matches in other games but civ held me. he deserves a guinesses spot

We all love Sid and his games, but I'm not really feeling this console version of Civ. I love the game to death but I think this will be a cute little game that any young kid could play. Not really my thing, but accolades to Sid, great job over the years!

Eh no big loss that its sliped really. Ive been a huge Civ fan since I first bought Civ2 for PS1.... but CR is going to be a game that has been hacked and slashed for the console, and be Civilization in name only. Everything thats made the game great to its actual fans is going to be missing...

Hes definitely deserving of the award, hes done alot to being in new players into the gaming market, and has a great mind behind the games he creates.

I got to meet him and get his autograph at Video Games Live in Washington, DC. He actually first announced the coming of Civilization Revolution there too. :3

Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution (PS3) will be worth the wait as I've been a fan of the series since Civilization II (PS1) I guess Civilization IV (PC) will have to keep me busy + Warlords/Beyond The Sword Expansions....
