EA sends DICE shooter to the front lines as Dance Central 2, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, and Daytona USA also head to market.
The din of anticipation for EA's Battlefield 3 can finally come to an end, as it finally hits store shelves this week. Dance Central 2 is set to follow up last years Kinect-only dance game from Harmonix. The Wii is getting one of its biggest games of the holiday in Kirby's Return to Dreamland, Telltale's adventure game take on Back to the Future is on the way for PlayStation 3 and Wii, and Daytona USA is back for another "rolling start."
After countless trailers and a beta that garnered more than 8 million participants, DICE's latest deploys this week. Set to hit the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, Battlefield 3 has seen a media blitz the likes of which few games are afforded. Although it's not EA's first title of the big release season, it will be its biggest, at least until December 20 when Star Wars: The Old Republic is slated to launch.
Meanwhile, Microsoft's Kinect is celebrating its second holiday season on shelves with a parade of sequels to its biggest launch titles. This week, Harmonix debuts the second installment in its Kinect-compatible dance series. New features in Dance Central 2 include two-player simultaneous dancing, a revamped Break it Down mode, new voice controls, and a whole new lineup of songs.
The Wii has one more holiday season left before the Wii U takes over as Nintendo's primary push in the living room, and Kirby isn't going to miss the chance for another trip back to Dreamland. Although the pink puffball's classic power-stealing ability is back, four player co-op will bring weapon-wielding King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Waddle Dee into the mix on a quest to help the alien Magolor find all the missing pieces of his wrecked ship.
Sega's classic stock car racer, Daytona USA, is coming back for a victory lap on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. This updated release will include 16:9 widescreen support and online, in addition to the traditional Arcade, Survival, and Time Trial modes.
For further details, visit GameSpot's New Releases page. The full list of downloadable games on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Wii Shop Channel will be revealed later this week. Release dates are based on retailer listings and are subject to change.

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT BAD GRAPHICS ON 360!!!! THEY LOOK AMAZING. I WAS SUPRRISED MY SELF!! NO REGRETS GETTING BF3 ITS SO FUN
Battlefield may seem awesome, but its just another war shooter to me, they get boring quick...im just waiting for Nov. Skyrim and Saints 3, maybe Sonic Generations.
I'll pick up BF3 in the morning along with Kinect Sport 2 and maybe Dance Central 2. Time to play some NBA 2K12 right now. Then maybe some Guardian Heroes and Batman.
BF3 is here! Time to celebrate! It's been a long trip but I've managed to make it to the release date with most of my sanity. BF3 rocks on! Who's with me?!
1- install campaign disc to HDD 2- install mp disc to HHD 3- install day one patch 4- play the campaingn on hardest difficulty and finish it 5- play mp
Trying to find info on Heavy Fire: Afghanistan - The Chosen Few is damn near impossible. One grainy video is all I've seen, you'd think before releasing a game they would at least inform gamers of what the game contains other than its another modern shooter
Only game I'm getting this week?: doo do do do do do do doooooo, . . . . . ., DAYTONAAAAAAAAA! DAYTONA,.... LET'S GO AWAY!
Nothing for me yet,November is where everything's at.Arkham City,L.A. Noire-both PC,Skyrim,Saints Row,those are the games Im looking for, some nice open worlded stuff. Also,AC Revelations in early December.A great month for a SP gamer like myself.
Way too much hype over BF3 and MW3, they'll end up on shelves collecting dust after they milk fanboys with DLC. I'd rather wait for Uncharted 3, Skyrim and AC Revelations and other quality single player games.
@Bezee4u because "both" implies two, and you have three games on your list, so it is grammatically impossible to have "both" Halo, MW, and BF. That is why you cannot have both of those three games. @kakistos10 Once something exists, it has existed, and cannot unexist. Go Pokemon, go Canada, go Chess. Thank you.
Oh please i don't see why i can't buy both BF3, MW3 and Halo CEA and have a good holiday with my 360 :)
U neet a online pass 2 play most games with a pass are lame We don't get a single dime from a used game, but we still need to create server space and everything for you." I'd just like point out that they're not technically creating more and more space as the obviously the guy that used to own the game no longer plays thus no longer needs any "space" anywhere.
This week Battlefield 3. Next week Uncharted 3 and Otomedius Excellent. It's going to be a good few weeks of gaming for me.
I will be picking up Battlefield this week!! I have a PS3 and a PC but I am going for the PS3 version mainly because my PC is turd ;)
@holtrocks Well BF3 is managing great reviews so far, IGN gave it 9.0 so Gamespot might give it something in the range 8.5-9.5 if the trend continues. What it bothers me it's that it seems that the campaign is taking a lot of heat because it's linear CoD like, but I bet the CoD campaign wont recieve that kind of treatment but praise instead (when almost every CoD campaing its a mess with lots of plot holes but OMG moments that make the whole experience almost on-rails) and I say this not because I like more BF than CoD, it's just that I hate this linear versus non-linear dabate because linear seems to be good/bad based on random prejudice from the reviewer. Also it seems the campaign it isnt brilliant but "only good" in BF3 which isnt a problem at all since the BF games always have been about MP and general opinion seems to be that this is the best BF game to date.
I got my (digital) copy of BF3, and now I kind of feel bad because I have less than 3 weeks to enjoy it before Skyrim comes out.
Ya know CoD fanboys should want BF3 to outsell MW3 or at least do some damage that way you guys get something new in your crappy games.
As long has the fixed the netcode in BF3 it should get a 9.5 9.0 at minimum, DICE has yet to disappoint me.
Wow...lot of garbage coming out. Thank god Battlefield 3 is finally here!!!! Would like to try Cursed Crusade but too busy dying in Dark Souls!
