Um according to Gamestop Face Racers is suppose to come out on 11/8, and Gabrielle's Ghostly Groove is suppose to come out on 10/7. Either Gamestop is wrong or someone at Gamespot might want to research their info or find someone who will...
New release slate led by id's shooter and From Software's Demon's Souls follow-up; NBA 2K12, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, and Just Dance 3 also out.
The first week of October is marked by the release of several high-profile debuts, including a new intellectual property from the developer behind Doom and Quake, the 2012 iteration of the NBA 2K series, and more.
Leading the pack this week is id Software's postapocalyptic shooter Rage for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Originally slated for release in September, the game is set on a postapocalyptic Earth in the midst of recovering from an asteroid collision, where humans have emerged from underground "arks" like the vaults in the Fallout games.
Players assume the role of a survivor who has emerged from an ark and subsequently been outfitted with an array of performance-enhancing nanotechnology and some powerful ranged weaponry. Rage is based on the id Tech 5 engine, the latest development toolset crafted by the company's chief technical officer, John Carmack.
While the real-world NBA season is currently embroiled in a potentially season-nixing lockout, a virtual tipoff is locked in for Tuesday. NBA 2K12 arrives for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, and PSP this week, and with it comes a new mode: NBA's Greatest. This mode has players suiting up as 15 iconic NBA players and re-creating some of the famous matchups in professional basketball history.
Arriving in time to spook gamers before Halloween, From Software's Demon's Souls follow-up Dark Souls arrives on the PS3 and Xbox 360 this Tuesday. The action role-playing game, which debuted strongly in Japan, is set in a dark fantasy world complete with dungeons and otherworldly creatures to battle. Unlike its predecessor, Dark Souls features a variety of outdoor areas that are seamlessly connected to one another.
The next Spider-Man movie isn't due out until next year, but gamers can get their hands on a new game featuring the friendly neighborhood wallcrawler this Tuesday. Spider-Man: Edge of Time tasks players with saving the life of Peter Parker in the modern-day Spider-Man universe in order to prevent an errant timeline from creating a bleak, apocalyptic future. The game will feature "cause and effect" gameplay, where one Spider-Man's actions will affect the other Spider-Man's timeline.
Gamers looking to bust a move this week can pick up Just Dance 3 for the Wii and Xbox 360. The title will be the first entry in the series to be released outside of the Wii and will support Kinect for the Xbox 360. Just Dance 3 will sport more than 45 tracks spanning multiple genres of music, including rock, pop, hip-hop, disco, rap, funk, and others. Some of these tunes include "Take On Me" by A-ha, "E.T." by Katy Perry, and "Barbra Streisand" by Duck Sauce.
For further details on the week's games, visit GameSpot's New Releases page. The full list of downloadable games on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Wii Shop Channel will be revealed later this week. Release dates are based on retailer listings and are subject to change.

Well in 4 hours I will be holding Dark Souls. I am really surprised at Rages Reviews...I dont know if they are being overly critical...I mean they are all 8's but know down the score for the storyline. Reminds me of another game "Breakdown" I loved that game on the Xbox and every reviewer gave it 8's but it ended up being one of my favorites.,
i purhase aterlier totori yesterday but this friday i cant wait for dark souls 360&ps3 rage ps3 nba 2k12 360 busy week
I just cant get myself to be impressed by rage.... fallout w/cars. but i am dropping the money on what is hopefully the hardest game on the planet in dark souls.
Rage first cause I know I can finish it in a week or so. Then Dark Souls, cause I know it's going to hold my interest till Skyrim comes around.
I guess most of us are going to be broke for the next few months lol. But I'm looking forward to Rage and Dark Souls.
This week and next week are going to be action packed! Wish I had some money to get all of these games.
@COPMAN221 Thank you for that info. I will actually be picking up the PS3 version mainly because its on one disc.
I have Rage on PS3 :) Beautiful Game :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFZTzHMfJYI
That Eufloria on PSN looks interesting, If Paydy: The Heist has a demo I might give it a try. Th game I'm getting though is RAGE. I hope Rage isn't just hype and actually delivers a good single player game as well as good multiplayer.
@Joedgabe I have a very hard time believing you pirate games just to "try them out" and if they work and are fun, you go out and buy them. I have a very hard time believing that haha.
Rage and Dark Souls both look like a lot of fun. I like that Dark Souls is multiplayer; would be interesting to play that way.
For those of you on the fence about buying Rage, If you like Borderlands and Fallout (I do) then you will love this game. I think it's awesome and I haven't even played it online yet. Graphics are better than both mentioned games combined. The only differnce between PS3 and 360 is 360 is on 3 disc while PS3 is on one blu ray but requires almost 8gig install so pick your poison. So whatever you hear from one system fanboys about it being better on either system is just fanboyism.. Enjoy the game
i want dark souls. but not sure if i want to pay for it yet. just got demon souls a few months ago for 12 bucks. died on the 3rd boss and havent played it since. think ill just rent this untill its cheaper
@seattleguy1966 I won't even bother with the game if it risk my pc no thank you.. and from the remarks i'll just instead ignore the game completely. Dark Souls > Rage
@Ford_Cruller know exactly how you feel LOL. Just went and paid off NBA 2k12 and RAGE. Batman and Battlefield are next. already got Dead island and Deus Ex
joedgabe first this is ID that ya talking about.. they made a few games u might remember doom ..... this will be all some and i hope u fry for downloading games that ya did pay for
I have Dark Souls and Rage on PS3 and both are awesome. I was going to get Rage on the 360 until I learned it was on 3 disc Dark Souls is identical on both systems so you can't go wrong with either..It's going to be a good week for all gamers.. ENFORCER266 on PSN if you want to check out the trophies
