The new iteration of the strategy RPG will be card based and free to play.
Valkyria Chronicles 3 for the PSP may not see the light of day in English, but gamers can at least get a taste of a new title in the franchise that will launch for the PC. Sega recently announced the next iteration in the strategy RPG series: a browser game called Valkyria Chronicles Duel.
In this new game, players get to build an army consisting of past Valkyria Chronicle characters and weapons that are represented by cards with different values and in-game properties. Users have to develop and fortify their base camp, expand and conquer territory, and fight off the opposition represented by 3D character battles akin to past titles on the PS3 and PSP.
The game will be free to play and will consist of a microtransaction system involving items. Interested parties can check it out and sign up for a user test session held from today until June 25. There is currently no mention of a release date for this game.
