Saints Row: The Third 'Full Package' hits Nov. 6

THQ to offer $50 DLC-bundled version of Volition's open-world action game later this fall for Xbox 360, PS3, PC; includes every weapon, vehicle, and outfit.

Gamers who have held out on picking up Saints Row: The Third may want to wait until November. THQ has announced the Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package, a downloadable content-bundled version of Volition's well-received open-world action game.

Due out on November 6 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC at $50, The Full Package includes the game, three DLC packs (Genkibowl VII, Gangstas in Space, and The Trouble With Clones), as well as more than 30 "bonus" DLC items from the game's previously released add-ons.

Altogether, players who pick up The Full Package will have every weapon, vehicle, and outfit created for the game. Saints Row: The Third launched during November 2011 and has shipped more than 4 million copies to date.

Whoa. $50! For all the DLC as well as the game? Right now on Steam it's about $130 for all of it!

I've been playing this game on Steam since I bought it at a reduced price, but I sometimes worry that it will eventually burn my laptop out so I think I'll get one more suited for a console. I'd like to get the XBox 360 version because of the controller, higher resolution, and the Initiation Station, but if I do get this game for a console, I think I'll get the PS3 version because I can still take my PS3 online (my XBox 360's ethernet port is busted), and my 360 can be rather moody when it comes to playing discs. Besides, I have a lot more memory space that I can store updates and saves on with my PS3.

I know some third-parties make PS3 controllers that are made like XBox 360 controllers; maybe I should look into one of those as well.

Too bad they totally screw the franchise up with this one.

Glad I'm waiting. I hope Sleepig Dogs and Resident Evil 6 has a 'complete edition' also, so I didn't need to rush on day one release :)

@Q-abs I don't know about Sleeping Dog, but you will see the complete edition of RE6 for certain (you know how Capcom toss their dices).

@jark888 The reason I dont always buy new games is because publisher sometimes release a "complete edition" like this.

at least if they would make the dlc free after the complete edition launches , but they keep continue to screw people who supported em early on

The graphics look worse than saints row 1 lol. However, this game does look fun as hell lol.

Another example that shows why you shouldn't buy some games at release.

And this is why I waited to buy the game.

I was about to pick this up today until I read this. I got borderlands 2 for now.

Will all the content be on disc or will the original DLC have to be downloaded (as part of the package)?

ApocaLeepse

Horrible, horrible time for this to come out, in my opinion. You have Assassin's Creed 3, Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 coming out at around the same time. People are going to be spending their money on those games and will likely already have Saints Row 3 and the DLC, since it has almost been a year since the game came out.

played the steam free weekend a few days ago and finished the story and got all the collectibles, gang ops, cribs, stores, properties, and weapons unlocked in the 2 days the free weekend was active for.

deff a fun game but i dont know if id pay after i did most of the content in it... and DLC usually isnt my thing

DLC really didn't help this game. If there is a ton of DLC announced for a game people might wait for either the price of main game to go down or wait for the complete verison to come out.

Glad I picked this up with all the DLC for 90% off(paid $13.29) in the steam summer sale. $50 is a stretch

And there goes my money spent on the Season Pass. I should've known that they'll one day release a total DLC package... Several months later it'll be 50% off on Steam. Damn it...  I seriously want my money back... :(

@YSDG At least you've learned now.  If only other people could figure out what we know, all this DLC and season pass nonsense might go away.

SR3 is a great game. The DLC ranges from briefly amusing to mostly horrible. The game + 90% of the DLC was available in a bundle on Steam for $13 during the summer. $50... really THQ?

SolidTy

Seems okay deal, but not mindblowing.

It's just another GOTY edition of a game with DLC included on the way.

PetJel

You can already get the game with all DLC for $30 on Steam, during a sale. And it's on sale -ALL- the time.

Man, that's a lot of DLC. I got the Funtime pack and season pass for preordering at $60, so I don't feel too bad.

Downloadable?  Does that mean they won't be releasing 'The Full Package' on disc?  Because I'm not paying $50 for a freakin' download.  I think $30 is the max I would pay for a download-only game, and even then it'd have to be something I really want and know I'll play my money's worth out of the game.

paperwarior17

@thedarklinglord I think they meant "downloadable content"-bundled. Although it's possible that some of the content won't be on the disc.

I'm still not getting this, I borrowed it from a friend and it's all toilet humor and immature, I wasn't laughing at all with this game......

The City isn't as interesting as Stillwater, the gangs are all dumb and it just follows the same tired pattern. I did like the character upgrades though....

Damnit I just reached 50% completion on this game. >< I guess I'll finish it and then give the ultimate edition a rental in a few months, and play through as a girl (tramp stamp that ho up to the nines!)

@MooncalfReviews Well...you've still got 50% to go. My feet are always aching because I've got so many pairs of Gators to break-in.

So they release a DLC after the other and when nobody buys they create the "full package", they should call this the complete game.

Sohereiam
Sohereiam like.author.displayName like.author.displayName like.author.displayName like.author.displayName 4 Like

@DarthLod I know i read it, what I meant was they keep releasing incomplete games, and release the rest of the game as DLC, since this is the Full Package, in another words a full game bundled whit all of their DLC, whiteout any extra DLC outside the bundle, so a complete game.

DarthLod
DarthLod like.author.displayName like.author.displayName like.author.displayName like.author.displayName 4 Like

Part of why I waited on this game. You save alot of money waiting folks.

Agent_Kaliaver

@DarthLod Unless you just bought the base game for $4 like I did. Surprisingly you can find deals that make it worth it earlier.

DarthLod

@Agent_Kaliaver Never is it worth buying a game new, then paying for add-ons and DLC instead of waiting for GOTY or Ultimate edition.

Lhomity
Lhomity like.author.displayName 1 Like

@DarthLod  @Agent_Kaliaver These re-releases exist because the game and DLC actually sold in the first place. If nobody bought games at launch = publishers don't make money = no GOTY edition with all the DLC bundled.

The market for bundles like this and any type of re-release (Including 'Greatest Hits' Classics and Platinum re-releases) is predominantly fans/collectors, people on tight budgets who can't afford to be picky, and people who traded in their old copy and want it again. These kinds of re-releases rarely make much money - often far less are printed, and thus shipped.

In short, publishers don't benefit much from releasing these bundles a year or more after launch.

I'm not trying to tell anyone how they should buy games, and if they want to wait, then by all means do so, but if nobody bought games at launch, and simply waited for a GOTY, there will be more than likely never be one.

.....wow.... That game is still worth the full price of 60 dollars.. I admire the will you show for waiting. just remember, obilivion never released a complete collection, just game of the year with two expansion, which was the only one worth buying, but wanted just wanted to give you a heads up that new consoles might be out before we that skyrim release your waiting for.
