AWESOME!!! I am a rock band kid but like world tour's tool setlist made me buy that i cannot pass on 2112. Hope that this is paving the way for some more epic prog like six degrees of inner turbulence.
Canadian band's 1976 20-minute, seven-part suite shredding into Quest mode in Activision's latest Guitar Hero installment.
Unlike recent Guitar Hero offerings, Warriors of Rock will feature a fantastical story-driven Quest mode recounted by legend of rock, Gene Simmons. One similarly chronicled song/experience is coming to the game in the form of Rush's lengthy, segmented, and thunderous 2112 track.
Complementing the addition of the extensive track when gamers reach each of the song's transitions, Rush band members will narrate liner notes from the 2112 album.
The song will break down as such:
- "2112 Pt. 1 - Overture"
- "2112 Pt. 2 - The Temples of Syrinx"
- "2112 Pt. 3 - Discovery"
- "2112 Pt. 4 - Presentation"
- "2112 Pt. 5 - Oracle: The Dream"
- "2112 Pt. 6 - Soliloquy"
- "2112 Pt. 7 - Grand Finale"
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock will include more than 90 tracks, and gamers can also download some 500 songs from the Guitar Hero Music Library. Of note, Warriors of Rock features an original track from Megadeth's Dave Mustaine, titled "Sudden Death," and the recently reformed Soundgarden, who will release "Black Rain" exclusively in the game.
Additionally, classic rockers Black Sabbath, Queen, Def Leppard, The Rolling Stones, and ZZ Top, will also have their songs featured in the game. For the game's partial artist and track lineup, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is due out September 28 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii.
This game's looking pretty sick. Think I'll buy it :D But why Rush? If you want almost impossible to play songs, why not some more Dragonforce ;) GH should upload the DF pack to GH5 downloadable songs. I dont have GH3 and I wanna play some DF!!!:p
"and the meek shall inherit the earth..." Wow, "2112" may just be enough to persuade me to get this GH game. Good stuff.
@ FMBelmont Nice picture...x___x @Everyone Chill. Rock band is probably gonna have some rush dlc. Dlc is better than making like a million games. Also all of the dlc you bought for Rock band 1 and Rock band 2 All carries over to Rock band 3. And you don't even have to buy the new instruments play on rock band 3. I still use my rock band 1 stuff and everything works fine. Im a huge rock band fan (no fan boy)
Still gonna wait and see what RB3s full set list is gonna offer before I decide to purchase. I was gonna get this for Bohemian Rhapsody, then BAM, RB3 has Bohemian Rhapsody as well....only time will tell
I don't care what anyone says, so far the soundtrack is better than Rock Band 3. I hate how RB has gone the way of GH5 and has a ton of popular songs that might sound good but are boring to play.
Rush is great. 2112 is their best album. But i cant help but laugh and pitty at the idiots who actually buy the "shredding" part. Activision or whoever chooses the songs for the setlist dont know anything about technicality when it comes to musical intruments.
@gstealer Is that sort of selfish? I could care less if kids today find great music from other sources if even if they are video games. Think about all the fans they have that would love to play their songs but aren't very well with real musical instruments. If Led Zeppelin put some songs in they wouldn't be selling out they'd be giving fans an opportuntiy to step into their shoes even in just a video game.
Gladestone1 @ Take it easy, I haven't said anything like that, you're putting words in my mouth. Did you even read the comment I mentioned before? Don't think so, otherwise you wouldn't have said that. Anyway, let me break it down for you. What I meant was, kids today, teens, call it whatever you want, will only get to know Rush because of a game. Just like it happened to Mercyful Fate, then they go lke "mercyful fate is awesome, and I also love Diamond Head because of Am I Evil?" that just sickens me. Imagine if Led Zeppelin accepted to appear in one of these games. I would commit suicide, seeing my favorite band sell out like that...geesh. If you wanna talk about music with me, feel free to, let's just not do it here, spam the topic, that's useless.
@Immortality 20- Somebody has never listened to Ruuush~ Each of those songs represents a part in the story of 2112, it's all one song, but I'm sure they'll have an option to play each song in parts or something.
2112 ya beauty. got i was about 14 when i bought that LP. still sounds good now. this GH is starting to sound pretty pretty pretty good
Man wtf this shouldn't be in GH it should be in RB. JK Rockband tends to have bad set lists on the disc and has a ton of DLC but most of it is meh. I will admit GH needs better DLC though. So in the end this is cool can't wait to play it.
I hear ya aaronfhff123 @ 10 bucks that now people will start to love Rush outta nowhere...just like it happened to mercyful fate..???? WTF? Mercyful Fate and Rush have been Popular for many years... but good to see this game open more peoples eyes to them... Or tho The new Rock Band is going to destroy this game... adding real guitar into the mix, when guitar games are starting to die off...Way to keep them alive. I will not be getting any of the games because i play guitar anyways...
@gstealer Where have you been the last 20 years..Rush has been popular for a very long time.Been following them since ive been old enough to listen to music..If your into music an havent heard of rush id be laughing..There more known than most bands..What a statement you made there had me chuckling..
Oh great, now I have a reason to buy this and Rock Band 3...>_> I'm thinking that as much as I love Rush I'm gonna have to pass this up. I can't justify buying more than one music game at a time.
I like how GH is taking a totally different path than RB. It makes each game more unique and likable in their own ways.
so is this 7 different songs? it should just be the final song. rush is the greatest thing canada has ever done. and i am canadian.
so lets see here: RB is adding a pro mode, which emulates playing real guitar, bass, drums and keyboard, a customizable career mode, and so far an excellent setlist. GH is adding a quest mode.......and nothing more. this game does NOTHING to revolutionize the genre in any way.
Oh lulz. I thought this would never happen. 20 minutes of notes flying down your screen. But I don't really play GH or RB anymore. I bet they'll probably put in an Endless Setlist like RB and then make you play 2112 at the end for laughs!
I hear ya aaronfhff123 @ 10 bucks that now people will start to love Rush outta nowhere...just like it happened to mercyful fate..
I am still not much excited by plastic guitars, but Rush's music is so cool I would like to check this game out.
Black Sabbath, Queen, and Rush are awesome! it's so funny how people know about judas priest and mercyful fate now because of guitar heroe, i used to get made fun of for listening to those bands and now they are considered good and known(well some of their songs) by people my age.
Never thought I would by another GH game. RB guy all the way. But this....there is no way to turn 2112 down.
I would never think of getting a guitar hero game since GHIII but finally! Not to mention I just saw RUSH live this past Saturday.
