AWESOME!!! I am a rock band kid but like world tour's tool setlist made me buy that i cannot pass on 2112. Hope that this is paving the way for some more epic prog like six degrees of inner turbulence.
Rush's "2112" lighting up Warriors of Rock
Canadian band's 1976 20-minute, seven-part suite shredding into Quest mode in Activision's latest Guitar Hero installment.
Unlike recent Guitar Hero offerings, Warriors of Rock will feature a fantastical story-driven Quest mode recounted by legend of rock, Gene Simmons. One similarly chronicled song/experience is coming to the game in the form of Rush's lengthy, segmented, and thunderous 2112 track.
Complementing the addition of the extensive track when gamers reach each of the song's transitions, Rush band members will narrate liner notes from the 2112 album.
The song will break down as such:
- "2112 Pt. 1 - Overture"
- "2112 Pt. 2 - The Temples of Syrinx"
- "2112 Pt. 3 - Discovery"
- "2112 Pt. 4 - Presentation"
- "2112 Pt. 5 - Oracle: The Dream"
- "2112 Pt. 6 - Soliloquy"
- "2112 Pt. 7 - Grand Finale"
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock will include more than 90 tracks, and gamers can also download some 500 songs from the Guitar Hero Music Library. Of note, Warriors of Rock features an original track from Megadeth's Dave Mustaine, titled "Sudden Death," and the recently reformed Soundgarden, who will release "Black Rain" exclusively in the game.
Additionally, classic rockers Black Sabbath, Queen, Def Leppard, The Rolling Stones, and ZZ Top, will also have their songs featured in the game. For the game's partial artist and track lineup, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is due out September 28 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii.
