Harmonix announces every song for upcoming portable version of rhythm rock game; artists include Queen, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, INXS, Phoenix, Paramore, others.
Last week the entire 83-song soundtrack for Rock Band 3 leaked, leading series developer Harmonix to fire back a tongue-in-cheek rebuttal that confirmed the prior leak. The same runaround won't be the case for the game's DS edition, as Harmonix today formally announced every song inside Rock Band DS.
The DS iteration of Rock Band 3 includes 25 songs from artists like The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Paramore, Phoenix, Whitesnake, and others.
The full list of artists and songs for the DS version of Rock Band 3 is below.
The B-52's--"Rock Lobster"

The Doors--"Break on Through (To the Other Side)"

Rock Band 3 is due out on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo's Wii and DS on October 26. The title is the first in the series to include a keyboard peripheral and a 102-button functional guitar, though the DS version is not compatible with those add-ons. @Tekken220 It doesn't work very well on the PSP. Or at least, that's what I think. Playing with an instrument (even if it is plastic) seems more fun than just hitting x, o, triangle, and square.
Let me get this straight.... The soundtrack for the DS version, sampling a 3rd of the 360/PS3/Wii version, is 75% awesome, 15% potential, and 10% meh. Meanwhile, the Console version is 75% CRAP. Clearly, Harmonix knows the small portion of their setlist that will cater to the majority of fans, because they put it on the more Casual DS version. So why bother putting so much crap on the console version. It makes me very mad. Who the heck over at Harmonix is selecting the music? He/she needs his/her ears cleaned. And a pink slip.
@rockwii13 Because there are people out there that might only have DS and have played Rock Band at a party or something on the 360 and enjoyed the game and might want it for their systems
Why is the hardest button to button on here? the song is just about 2 minutes long, seven nation army would be much better. Bohemian Rhapsody is awesome. Where is Yeah Yeah Yeah's Maps and Melancholy Hill by Gorillaz?
why would we put a game that is fun because of its intended peripherals on a handheld device that doesnt use the peripherals? makes no sense.
Just Like Heaven, Lasso and The Hardest Button to Button are the only songs there that really interest me...
I played RB Unplugged on the PSP and really enjoyed it. I played LEGO Rock Band on the DS and it was just as good (gameplay-wise, not...you know, song-wise). I'm looking forward to Rock Band 3 on the DS. I understand why it has so few songs. It's a lot, if anything; Elite Beat Agents filled up a traditional 128MB DS card with just 19 songs.
So the DS list is the stuff they announced at E3, plus three songs? Not a huge surprise, looks good still.
Umm...ok? On the DS? Seriously? I mean, I love the DS, but this is a game, IMO, that probably doesn't belong on the DS.
nice but woudnt gamers tire of just 25 songs after a while? seems they could have added a bit more. but i guess thats where DLC comes in heh.
@Coolyfett yes its always great to see devs like this make games for portables, even tho i'd like it on the psp more, i'll probably give this one a shot
I love that Harmonix still wants to make Frequency/Amplitude type games, even with the amount of success they're having with Rock Band right now There's a company who hasn't forgotten their roots
Actually looking forward to the DS version. Harmonix actually works really hard on their DS ports and so far, with LEGO Rock Band, they've turned out good. This one has a larger setlist too so I think this will turn out to be a pretty good pocket Rock Band!
