Retailers Land Sega Marine Fishing

By Doug Trueman

The sequel to last year's Sega Bass Fishing is now on store shelves.

Sega announced today that its new angling game Sega Marine Fishing is now on sale at retailers across North America. Players can pursue a variety of sea life that ranges from tarpon, tuna, and sailfish to blue marlin and mako sharks. Both the proprietary Sega fishing reel peripheral and the Sega Dreamcast controller are supported. The game features 16 lures, advanced AI for realistic fishing conditions, underwater camera angles, three playable characters, and five different aquatic stages to explore. Also included are five minigames to help train the player in the art of deep-sea angling. The title has online support, allowing players to both receive personal challenges online and compare their trophy fish to those of gamers from around the world.

"Sega Marine Fishing takes players to the next level of virtual fishing, challenging them with advanced AI, bigger and heavier fish, and a much greater area to cover," said Stacey Kerr, product manager for Sega of America.

The game carries a retail price of US$39.99. The special fishing controller sells for $39.99 and must be bought separately.
