@frazzle00 True brother very true, I try and keep my snarky sheeple / indutry(from dev,pub and mag) conspiracies to my tin foil hat days but frankly I think people are too willing to want to be deceived by modern media. Its easier to buy than to think and thus vote with your wallet, I don;t buy new anymore its just not worth the cost. But hey I am happy to admit that its great peoople have a high tolerance for high prices and low qaulity in media at least they can get by, I can't enjoy average media to bust picking out the splinters from my butt, us black sheep never learn. LOL Still I am rather saddened by shrinking option/content it magnifies all the problems with whatever the product is.

@frazzle00 Scores are misleading to much modern consumerism and a general bending over of the magazine industry to the game industry has made 7-9 the "new" average score when its a really a 5-7. Less is not more, we get less content (level path shrinking,less customization,ect,ect) and purchased DLC that adds more mess and not nearly enough finish and polish. Every time I hear a 9 I find the game has so many holes in it its more like a 5 or 6. Haloep 3 is not too bad much better than 2 but still to short and they messed up dual wielding some, just let me pick 2 or 3 of anything already.... I really hate devs micro managing game play like that. ODST has its own set of problems but IMO both are above average RES being very average(in both story and game play), tho it dose have very fun weapons they really fail to bring alot of polish to the games , hopefully RES 3 wont be a cash in like 2 but something with a strong story and better gameplay.

@frazzle00 I thought there was a general consensus Halo 3 and Halo ODST were pretty average games. Graphically they were nothing special, nor do either of them contain any remotely epic boss battles, nothing on a large scale at least. I haven't played Halo Reach but I guess from others who have it's very good, but honestly I much prefer the pace of resistance, it's not run and gun like CoD, but it's not as slow paced as Halo. Not saying CoD or Halo have a bad game pace, both are great, just different.

Have yet to really get into this series but just might make the leap on Resistance 3.

Resistance is awesome! cant wait. Suprised it didnt make the anticipated games for 2011, neither did uncharted 3 =/ god knows why. As for this agument going on, the 360 probably does have more exclusives becuase there are like 6 halo games. If your gonna count all that crap then of course it will have more. If were talking IP's then theyre probably about even by now id imagine

@frazzle00 I know. you are right. I know the 360 has WAY more exclusives. dakan45 thinks the ps3 does but it is common knowledge that the 360 has more. I think you read me wrong. the 360 has some great exclusives. BUT over all I think the PS3 has the BEST exclusives. uncarhted, killzone, god of war. I was just trying to side with dakan45 a little bit becaeu he is obsvlously a ps3 closeminded fan boy. I was just trying to apeal to him a little bit so he would calm down and alteadt listen to 1 of my 10 posts because he missed the point of every single one of them which is: we don't know how good resistance 3 will be until we play. The other 2 games were mediocre. but the 3rd COULD be good and we cant judge on pics and vids. @

@dakan45. AGAIN this is not about 360. do a little research. 360 has more exclusives. about double. OF ALL GAMES. the is not the point at all because half of them are #$%#$. 360 has more, ps3 has better ones. my whole entire point is that my unborn daughter knows more about FPS games than you do.

@dakan45 do you really believe the stuff you type???? YES IT DOES!!!!! I am 101% positive I am right. the ps3 has 3 by my count!!!3 !!!!(socom which is dog #"$%#$%) the 360 has . FOR EXAMPLE metro 2033, HALO, 3, ODST, and REACH. FRONTLINES. PERFECT DARK ZERO, PREY, QUAKE 4. and this is not about the 360 AT ALL!!!! you are changing the subject!!! again proven you have no clue what we are even arguing about.

@dakan45 okay. metacritic scores: Killzone 2 91avg. user score is 8.3. Resitance 2 87 and whopping 5.8 from users!!!! Senior community manager James Stevenson of Insomniac said that the game "was a failure" for the hardcore followers of the series and admited that gamers's negative feedback had weighted on him" BUT PLEASE LISTEN!!! I am not downing Resitance 3. like I said I plan on buying it and it may be the best FPS I have ever played.

@dakan45 people still play killzone 2 multi and resistance mutli was dead after 6 months. The weapons in Kill zone 2 were horrible!!!! it is my only complaint about the game. there is only ONE effective weapon in the entire game. the assault rifle. you can not even pick up another weapon if you want to beat the game on the hardest difficulty. whatever. you are just talking air. I dont really care. I am going to buy resistance 3 and Killzone 3. they will both be fun.

I have also not said a SINGLE thing about resistance 3. I said you can say it has the best graphics becuas you have not played it yet. it very well may be the BEST FPS ever. I dont know yet and neither do you. you are grabbing at straws. and yeah I would place resistance 2 slightly above singularity. Singularity was fun for one quick play through and that was it. you are being defensive and grabbing at straws.

@inaka_rob I am sorry pal, but this is not about skill or anything, many people have actually said that. I remember talking about with my friends, he said "its like those games that you HIT the head a couple of times and then the helmet pops off" :lol: So yeah its not about skill or hit or not hitting, its about taking many hits to kill someone and headshots, that renders shooting weak, it does not feel solid. Oh and killzone 2 multiplayer was forgetable as resistance mp was. Id rather play cod or bad company 2.

@inaka_rob Graphics will pretty much look like the gameplay in this video. Not as goob bust still that was gameplay not gdc like say the new batman game. Also videos and screenshots pretty much prove what graphics look like. Get a better tv if they look bad to you. Also fps=first person shooter. X360 "hardly" has any. So yeah ps3 has better fps unless you consider halo a good fps. Killzone 2 is not the best looking fps, crysis and arma 2 look much better. Resitance is a great fps series which does what trully matters in fps gaming and not cheapy cover system or weak weapons and definetly not using weapons and enemies that look like they were made from Mattel like halo does. Also i have been playing fps since wolfenstein came out. No not that one, the one that came out in 1993-1994 and i have played alomst every fps since. So please dont argue with me about fps. I know far more than you do. Also resistance 3 is a much better than those fps you mentioned for many reasons. Like having unique weapons and not a bunch of identical assault rifles that fps gaming has ended up into nowdays. Also weapons in singularity were so weak, the mechanics were practicly non existant as the ai was. Most fps nowdays take place in borring corridords with generic gameplay and challenges, like fear 2. Well not resistancte 3, thats why its great. Oh and hl2 is soooo deathborring with pretty simplistc fps gunplay for non fps gamers.

@dakan45 I do trully love this: "killzone 2, the weapons are weak as hell, so it feels dumb shooting for so long" Maybe you should try hitting your target!!! Killzone requires skill. It is not a RUN and GUN shooter. Try beating it on the hardest difficulty level. It is one hard game not CHEAP like a lot of FPS games out there (EVERY COD GAME!!!). I have noticed you haven't even brought up the mutliplayer. What about resistance multiplayer vs Killzone 2 multiplayer???? agian. no contest what so ever.

PART 2 @dakan45 I am simply stating Resistance isnt all that good. They only reason its gets as much attention as it does is because the PS3 does not have as many FPS games. If it came out on the 360 is would get swept under the carpet like half the games i listed. OH I forgot to mention I also played Cryisis and Farcry 2 on the PC. and no I am not simply listing every FPS game that has come out. I have not played Metro 2030 or Mag. yet...

@dakan45 FIRST off you absolute have NO idea what the playable graphics of Resistance 3 will look like. a video and still pics can not be cited as evidence! FOURTH. IMO Killzone 2 is the best looking FPS to date and HALO series is the best CONSOLE FPS to date (look at the sales numbers of resistance vs halo). LAST. you DO not want to pick a fight with me about FPS games. here are a couple FPS games I have played in the last 3 years: Killzone 2, Resistance 1 and 2, All the Halo games, Singularity, Battlefield Bad Company 1 and 2, Cod Of Duty World at War, Modern Warfare 1 and 2 and Black Ops. Front Lines. Perfect Dark, Serious Sam 1 and 2. FEAR 2 and expansion packs. Rainbow Six 1 and 2. Left 4 Dead 1 and 2. Half life 2 and ep 1 and 2, which is STILL way better than just about every game I have listed. Resistance included. Bioshock 1 and 2, Fall out 3, (those dont really count but more than gears!!) Quake 4, Clive Barkers Jerico, Turok, Timeshift, Prey, The Darkness, Cod 2 and 3 and Perfect Dark zero. That was JUST in the last 3 years. Resistance is FAR from the bottom of this list. but it is not on the top. It pretty much smack in the middle. this is NOT about 360 vs PS3.

@inaka_rob In my opinion shooter on x360 are crap. I dont own a x360 for that very reason. There is not even one good shooter. Seriously what is good? Gears of war or halo? Resistance has tons of guns and enemy types with varied enviroments and situations and it feels like an oldschool shooter. Also in comparison with singularity and killzone 2, the shooting is much better. The weapons in sigularity are crap and it feels too easy. In killzone 2, the weapons are weak as hell, so it feels dumb shooting for so long. But in resistance weapons are varied and feel diffirent while using them.

all I can say is: THIS BETTER HAVE MULTIPLAYER CAMPAIGN!! other than that, looking good and plz don't screw with the mechanics too much. R1 and 2 are amazing FPS games for those of us players that aren't COD hardcore FPS worthy lol.

I think the ps3 is great and all but you dont see ANY ONE using the resistance series as a one the reasons it is better than 360. people use killzone.

@coaltango I get that you like resistance and feel the need to defend your choice, but there are better games out there. better looking, better playing. The grenades are cool though. I will agree with you on the point.

Resistance 3 is a must buy for me. played and love Resistance 1&2 and PSP resistance Retribution. This is launch day buy for me. I do love Si-Fi First person shooters. Resistance 3 it is about time. been waiting for this one.

@Phazevariance if you haven't yet, then don't bother. 1 was good but very dated even when it came out, and 2 is still a little dated and not very interesting. i think people are forgetting that this is a resistance page, and not a "go sony" page. people are allowed to have opinions unrelated to sony's next year.

@inaka_rob You should take another look at Resistance 2. The ships alone in the background prove how good the game looks. Those ships are in full 3d(first game to provide this) unlike others where backgrounds are 2d. Also, the story for R2 is really good and one of the best that a shooter has too offer. It also has a great co-op multiplayer that randomly chooses your missions to play. This isn't saying Killzone doesnt have a good story or doesnt look good. There are just about as many exlcusive shooters on PS3 as on 360, as most 360 shooters you think are exclusive are actually on PC as well. This negates the exclusivity of the 360. @sleepnsurf Gears is good and all, but it is not as good as Resistance the story alone is better and the graphics with the background images(like mentioned above) the ships are 3d objects and not 2d, Gears unfortunately does not have this.

@sleepnsurf in terms of character development , graphics & dialogue Gears is better than resistance. in terms of weapons , movement & lag free online play (not to mention it still takes ages for a Horde match to start in Gears 2) Resistance is better than Gears
