Pre-release trial for upcoming shooter launches next week on Xbox Live, eShop, Steam, and PSN.
A Resident Evil: Revelations demo will launch May 14 on Xbox Live, eShop, Steam, and PlayStation Network, Capcom announced today. PSN users in Europe will get the demo May 15.
Capcom did not provide any details regarding what will be featured in the demo outside of giving players a sample of the "claustrophobic hallways of the Queen Zenobia."
Resident Evil: Revelations launches May 21 and is expected to sell 1.2 million copies worldwide by the end of March 2014. The game originally launched as a 3DS-exclusive in February 2012.

So after playing the demo on the Wii U, I was extremely disappointed. The gameplay and settings were decent, but the dealbreaker was the controls. It was IMPOSSIBLE to be precise. I was trying to aim for the enemies head but instead had to resort to zig-zagging across the screen just to hit some part of the body. And trust me, there is no precision at all. Along with the stiff facial animations, this one is a tough sell for me.
I gave up on this franchise. The 1st one and RE4 were brilliant. The rest of the games are just pure garbage. No thanks, go milk cows instead Capcom.
hope PS4 and Xbox 3 will use a "Miiverse system" to add in game messages from other players into your game.
I'm waiting for this, I guess Capcom owe us even a sequel of it because making a sequel out of RE 6 is going to be hard after what we saw.
Hmm.. so what, this now like the seventh RE? (not bitching about it).
Hopefully this time the devs wont say that they want to cater to CoD audience, because RE is totally different to CoD-style gameplay and imo should not need to be anywhere near CoD-likeness.
Make it like Dead Space 1 where you can aim while walking and it's gonna be atleast better than RE5.
@quakke Go and watch/read the review, there's already one of the 3DS version and this is just the same but with better graphics. And yes, you can aim while walking.

If its similar to the demo on the 3ds it should be good. Not too sure if i'll buy it again. Defo better than 5 & 6

3 Like Pfff. Jill from Resident Evil remake - RE5 sure. This is some faux Jill in my book. Wonder why they changed her face. Can't cost that much to use Julia Voth's likeness.

1 Like I seriously can't believe Capcom has the gall to release this game on the pc for full retail price without improving the graphics, adding dx11, tessellation, hi-res textures, etc. In fact the price is even higher than it was on the 3DS. All they did was bump up the resolution of the screen without adding hi-res textures so that everything looks blurry. Even though graphics aren't everything but at least put some effort. This is a direct port from a handheld game.

It looks a lot better than the 3DS version to me. In fact I was going to purchase the 3DS version but decided to wait for the PC version instead because of the noticeable difference.
The game looks nowhere near the graphic quality of Resident Evil 5 or 6. Maybe the previews only showed the console version but it just doesn't look as good as the other versions. I was willing to pay full retail price for this game if they had just used the engine for 5 or 6, but instead it looks more like 4. Colors are washed out, textures are blurry, and lack of detail and geometry for characters.
1 Like @plm3d_basic Not improving the graphics? Listen buddy, unless you are LITERALLY blind, there is a huge difference in graphic fadelity. Full retail price? It's more than $10 cheeper than that.
I don't know what stills of the game you're looking at, but as someone who saw the original 3DS graphics compared to this, you might as well compare it to Crysis with the difference in quality.
I don't need tachnical specks either. What I'm SEEING and not READING, as someone who wears glasses, is a mountain of difference.

DUDE! "It's $10 'cheeper' than full retail"??? How about no one buys the game and saves all $50, that way you can save your time and money for something good? :)
You know what other games were $10 less than retail? ORC and both Dead Island games.
1 Like I have "Resident Evil: Revelations" on my 3DS; love it; except for the annoying swimming parts. I am downloading the demo for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. I want to decide which version I am buying. If I have the ends, I am going to probably buy it for Wii U and PS3. It is a fantastic Resident Evil game; very foreboding, atmospheric and creepy. Wait until you get to the part with the "fake" MAYDAY call. That was disturbing and hair-raising listening to that with earbuds on playing it on 3DS.
2 Like When capcom announced this as a 3ds exclusive I said that it was an idiotic move and would go cross platform eventually. I also said I wouldn't buy it when it did because of this.
Either way it's not Julia Voth which really bums me out. Come on can't they at least keep Jill looking the same!

Yep. Shame. Free season pass would have been nice. I think I'll just wait for this to get cheap or if they release an ultimate pack later.
9 Like Yay, a demo! And for PC too! Demos seem so rare nowadays and sometimes when I read about them here, they're just for Xbox and Playstation. It doesn't seem to matter that the game in question also has a PC version, the demo is just Xbox live and PSN. What's even better is that this game doesn't seem to be a shit-for-brains title, one where you know beforehand is so bad that there is no need for a demo.

2 Like What's with the hate for Revelations? It's actually good RE game for once. Capcom didn't think it'd be popular so they just ditched it to 3DS but, surprise surprise, going back to little more traditional RE formula is actually a good think *gasp*
If anyone does buy it... Get it on Steam. If pre-orders reach a certain point we all get the season pass free!
Pros: It's basically built like RE4/5. It reviewed very well.
Cons: It's a handheld ported/retextured for bigscreens. It's not Julia Voth's face on Jill. Style could be considered a bit dated.

Yucky, no thank you. After the disappointing mess that was RE6, I'm done with the series as a whole. It's just a money cow for Capcom now.
