Resident Evil GC update
Capcom releases a new video trailer and screens from the GameCube Resident Evil remake.
Capcom has released new screenshots from and gameplay video of its Resident Evil remake for the Nintendo GameCube. The game uses prerendered animated backgrounds and real-time character models, but through the use of advanced lighting effects and real-time shadows and reflections, Resident Evil on the GameCube achieves a highly realistic look. This latest media of the game shows Chris Redfield as he moves through a variety of passageways and rooms inside a mansion setting. Unfortunately, no zombies are shown in the video clip.
Although the original Resident Evil is being remade with significantly enhanced graphics and gameplay, the other GameCube Resident Evil games, including Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, and Resident Evil Code: Veronica, will be ports rather than remakes. However, Capcom is also developing two new games, Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4, for Nintendo's console. All the announced Resident Evil games will be released exclusively for the GameCube.
