The Resident Evil series is celebrating its 15th birthday this year, and publisher Capcom is throwing the horror action franchise a birthday bash with a new Japanese bundle that packs in most of its biggest games.
The Resident Evil 15th Anniversary Box (as translated by Andriasang) will include three original PlayStation Resident Evil games and high-definition remastered iterations of Resident Evil 4 and Code: Veronica, along with their soundtracks, pins, and stickers.
The PlayStation-era Resident Evil games included in the Anniversary Box are Resident Evil Director's Cut, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3: Last Escape. According to the translation, the boxed collection will also include an extra space for gamers to fill with their copy of Resident Evil 5, in order to complete the set.
The pack will be available exclusively through the publisher's e-Capcom store in Japan on September 8. There was no mention of a North America debut for the 15th Anniversary Box.
I've preordered the RE6 Anthology which has all the games listed with the exception of Code Veronica; so I'm not PO'ed that Japan and Europe are ALWAYS getting these cool box sets and steelbooks. This trend is no only CAPCOM but every game developer/publisher in the bizz. humh......
Eh, I already downloaded 1 through 4 off PSN and I bought RE5 for my PS3. All I need to get is CVX
1 Like I dont understand why 1 was remade on gamecube but 2 and 3 were left untouched. Now we get Re4 and Code V hd but not 1-3.
@unreal_master oh right before i forget resident evil 1-3 are playstation games its harder to HD older games from the psx than the ps2 and besides you can still get RE1-3 on psn.... and before you mention the remake.. i think nintendo owns the rights to that and 0...unless im mistaken of course.... then they should HD those unless the wii versions are enough for you
@unreal_master 2 and 3 werent remade because they were making re0 and secretly re4 at the time.... i personally am glad they didnt... other wise we would have waited longer for 4, 5, and 6
RE 1 2 3 were the best RE games of all time.......imo from the 4th game they should have changed the name to another franchise........
What a pack. But no HD remastered versions of 1 and 2!?! That's a shame; those 2 are the ones I never got to play when I was younger and would love to have touched up. !
Love me some resident evil...but no matter what game it is, they always find a way to charge you for the same games over and over again. Just slap some pretty metal embossing on a cigar box and call it NEW! And I especially love how they dare to call it a "Limited Edition" when an unlimited amount of them are readily available.
Woh! In kinda jelous. I own 0,1,2,3, Code V X, and 4 for gamecube. I would buy this in a second though. I hope we see a release at some point. GAMESPOT keep us posted!!!!!
Cant wait for a US release. Its a must have for my collection and it would be nice to replay through some of the best horror games made on the PS.
I remember playing resident evil on playstation one back 96. Got an import copy and cos my tv wouldnt play at 60hz the picture was black and white. It actually made the game better being black and white. Spent whole nights playing it losing hours. my mum coming downstairs and me saying what you doing up and her saying its morning. lol Loved that game. Wish that and resident evil 2 would get a hd remake those games were the business. Todays resident evil just doesnt have that same eerie feel to it.
they will re-re-release it in us and eu just under the name: super resident evil arcade super the luxe edition. this is capcom....
Resident Evil was the first game that scared the crap out of me. It was challenging yet addicitve. I wore my Playstation out trying to beat the original RE. Capcom has done an excellent job with this box set and it will definitely bring back memories. I just hope that they decide to release it here in the States.
this is only for hardcore collectors or die hard RE fans, the HD remakes of RE4 and CV sound very promising thou but still, people who like RE played most of the games by now still its very nice from Capcom :]

Now im the Resident Evil Guru but y would i buy this if i already have all of them already??? This is a waste of money 2 any1 who already has this. I'll pass on this.
How much is this going to be worth on eBay in a few years time? The one Capcom did for RE years ago, now sell for a mint on eBay.
Come on, release it here. I know we technically already have them all, but I'd like to get them in a set like this.
Kind of a shame they didn't include Resident Evil Zero for the Gamecube or the Wii in the boxset to make it more "definitive". Still nice. May I say "shiny".
I'd get it no doubt. I tried to play RE4 on the PS2 but trying to play it on an HDTV and it's impossible. The only SDTV's I have are about 14 or so inches and it's a big step down from playing on a 42 in. TV so I'd gladly take this HD remastered version.
I don't think I want to buy it when I already have ALL those games (minus the soundtrack CDs). Perhaps I will if I'm a hard-core fans of RE... but apparently I'm not.
If capcom would take the RE4 engine and aiming mechanics, and let me go through the Spencer Mansion and underground labs, and then the Racoon City Police station from RE1 and RE2. I would die happy.
I have the hard disc versions and downloadable versions of 1 2 and 3, Ill just download RE4HD when it comes out on the PSN
I'd like to see the Gamecube remakes ported to whatever system...and for that matter, I'd like to see Twin Snakes ported too.
