Hey does anybody actually have this? It sounds really cool but kinda want to hear from somebody if it is or not... let me know!
2K Sports offers feature to make highlight reels from saved replays for 360 baller; Reelmaker on Marketplace for 400 points.
Every basketball gamer has encountered this situation: A player's team makes a miraculous fourth-quarter comeback capped off by some prayer heaved from half-court as time expires. The cry "Holy s***! Did you see that?" goes answered, because, sadly, there was no one around to watch it.
2K Sports is letting Xbox 360 NBA 2K7 owners make sure that everyone sees their virtual NBA Championships, rim-rattling tomahawks, and ankle-snapping crossovers with Reelmaker.
The new add-on for the game lets players edit saved replays into SportsCenter-like highlight reels. The clips can be adjusted in several ways, such as altering the speed of the replay, adding special effects, and including sound bites from the commentators. Once the reel is finished, it can be posted on Xbox Live for other NBA 2K7 owners to see.
Reelmaker will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace for 400 points ($5) as soon as Xbox Live is no longer down for maintenance.
boycott EA buy 2k7:) http://www.petitiononline.com/bcottea/petition.html
I want a directors mode in GTA 4. Imagine all the macamicha that could be made from all those cool "watercooler" moments.
i wonder if the clips can be saved on computer or sent there, its gonna be a pain to store clips on that 13GB HDD
This is a cool idea, but highlights (no pun intended) the problem I have with downloadable content. This isn't something they've added AFTER the game was finished. This isn't EXTRA content. They obviously made it while they were making the game and then left it out just so they could sell it for extra. Sure, 5 bucks is nothing, thats not the point. But when devs start leaving features out of a game just to get a little more cash we need to stop and think. I'm all for devs finishing a game, then putting more work into it with new missions, or weapons or whatever. But deliberately leaving out content is wrong. Do we really want consoles to be like PC games where devs can rush out a buggy game cos they know they cant patch it later?
Anyone else afraid the highlight reels will eat up your hard drive like none other? Good idea, but I'm hesitant.
its all boring blah who cares i dont need it if i do something nasty on someone ill just replay it laugh and do it again 2morrow or next week you people should spend your time making the games better and stop trying to fool us with these extra cost YUCK!!!
This is a pretty cool idea. Everyone needs to stop whining! At least this feature doesnt affect the game. At least it isnt some stupid new jerseys or a new stadium. This is completely different.
Just don't buy it people, hit them in the mouth with your wallet full of cash by not buying the ridiculous add-ons and junk.
Monstromo i feel your pain now they sell have the game have made and sell the rest. thats why i got rid of my 360 last week to get a wii i dont care what no one says i prefer fun over hd or bluray any day.sure the games in hd look good but there no fun i use to ask my self the same thing all the time until i played my sons ds one nite when he was sleeping and you know what i have not have so much fun i my life in a long time.to me metriod hunters is more fun online then all most all the games on xbox live not for nothing they say nintendo fell off but they didnt they still about haveing a good time while all these other conpanys are just focusing on makeing it look good i think they dont even realy care about the game play
Wait till XBL brings back the arcade system! Download a full 360 game for free but you have to pay.25 cents per life! Like the arcades :)
I'd like to see something like this for an FPS. It'd be hilarious to replay some of the more ridiculous kills over and over again.
I paid $60 for the game, why should I have to pay $5 more for something that, in the past, would have came with the game?
Great idea, too bad they limit you so much. There is nowhere enough time available to call this a "Sportscenter-like segment",you have to use the EXACT same players,AND you can't add voice or music. This thing needs some patching.
This is becoming a really lame situation. Features that should be in a full price game are stripped out and put on Live for an additional fee. Pretty soon every freaking game will have some peice of it missing to buy on Live. Then your wallet will be empty and your hard drive filled because it is only 20 gigs. Anybody remember when video games were fun? Now they are just becoming like cable and satellite TV: pay per view. Now its pay per play. I hate it. But I will have to get used to it.
Well, I don't care about this for an NBA game, but I hope they add something similar in other genres...More things like this would really help shift the industry of console gaming to a more PC-centric experience.
