Once retail exclusives, $1 Deadly Assassin Outfit, Golden Guns Weapon Pack, and War Horse hitting download spots tomorrow; L.A. Noire bonuses available as DLC "much sooner."
Rockstar Games' open-world Western Red Dead Redemption launched last May to widespread praise. The game was released with several retailer-specific preorder bonuses, and this week those gifts will become available to all, via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.
Rockstar Games has announced that all three preorder bonuses--Deadly Assassin Outfit, Golden Guns Weapon Pack, and War Horse--will become available tomorrow, April 12, on the PlayStation Network and on Xbox Live for $1 and 80 MS points, respectively.
Rockstar apologized on its blog for the delay in bringing the content to the masses, citing "unanticipated technical delays" as the reason for the slow release. The publisher also promised that L.A. Noire--due out next month--will see its preorder bonuses arriving as DLC "much, much sooner."

They should do this with all games. But they should also not wait this long. After 4-6 months it is already enough time to get some extra stuff.
Buy it or don't buy it guys, it is totally up to you. Obviously Rockstar don't really want your money but they are now giving you the chance to get some nice bonuses you missed out on. This download is purely for our benefit, and to be honest I'll be buying it to check it out. People would gladly pay an extra 10-15 dollars to get it when it first came out why not buy it for a dolar now?
Thank god it's only $1 for those dnls. I remember that ppl were selling $40 a pop for the war horse a while back on ebay.
R* is pretty cool for brining in these pre-order items for purchase. Most developers don't even give a crap that players might actually want this stuff. I mean, why should people be left out because they didn't pre-order at Wal-Mart, GameStop, Amazon.com, etc.?
I think there is a little subtle hint in here...? and that is... That pre-order bonuses are just not worth it... $1.00 and 80ms points for what exactly, coz the game works well without it? Its also far too little, far too late! People reading this: Do yourselves a favour and don't buy into all this pre-order bonus nonsense, they already make a fortune without this and it really isn't worth it for any game that I've seen yet?
The author made one of the sentences ambiguous. It is NOT $1 for all DLC. It is $3 for all dlc. Each one of the downloads is a $1. I won't be buying this nonsense.
@Andy9Beans Microsoft is too busy focusing all it's efforts on it's 'family friendly' image nowadays. Red Dead is probably too violent for them :P
Simultaneous release on XBL and PSN??? Surely not, someone wake Microsoft up, they've actually missed the chance to pay for a timed exclusive!!! ;)
good company and a good selection of software titles released by them, I agree i am too looking forward to la noire.
@collinmul Yeah, they're required to charge for it. They can only release so many freebies (like they did with the Hunting and Trading package).
Hmm, kinda late, but very cool. This is one of the best games ever!! I paid $50 for the War Horse on Ebay the day after launch day.
i will buy the dlc for a dollar.i just recently got the game finally after beating alot of my other games.i did see recently on amazon a listing for a goty rdr guide so i assume there will be a goty rdr as well.probably will include all the dlc.the guide was listed as a limited edition
Hey, that war horse is supposed to be fun! At least they followed through on making it all available!
Why complain about the value of these? You want the DLC but think it is a ripoff? If it isn't worth a dollar to you, surely you don't really care about it.
Are they required by Microsoft or Sony to charge for this "DLC"? I don't get it. Why charge anything if you're just going to charge $1? Seems to me if Rockstar was really trying to make money out of this they'd bundle all the DLC together, throw in a new in-game outfit or some other frilly do-dad, and charge $3..... Why $1? Is irritating some of your cash-strapped fans worth $1? That figure didn't just come nowhere.
Not that i play the game ne more so i don't really care but im getting sick of games doing this. These pre-order bonus are meant to be just that a "pre-order bonus" to get these most ppl buy at eb games and spend about $100 per game( i get them to price match so a little less usually). I could just shop thru eBay spend half the price and then get these dlc l8r ne-way? btw gold guns sux there only on the standard weak weapons srry. outfit and horse are kewl
These pieces of **** should be free at this point to be honest. I can't believe they are asking $1 for each. Sigh...
This took forever to release Rockstar. Will most people who completed this game already need this though?
Lets read between the lines: 1. If they are willing to release it at this point, there won't be a sequel or GOTY edition for a long time. 2. If they are going to release it for just a dollar, what does that say about the value of preorder bonuses when the game is new? 3. Releasing the game at this point implies they will be supporting this game for a long time. Can we hope for more DLC in the future?
I'm marking my calendar to download these...but would I really replay the game...hmm...but now does it seem cheap if you did pre-order? I guess since you may have used it in your first go-round, then it had value then, the game's been out a while.
