disabling windows aero alone gives you a couple extra FPS. add that to everything else that gets paused and it will make things a little better.

This is a disaster waiting to happen.

I honestly think this wont help alot ... but even if it boosts by like a few percent people will still take it ... better than nothing right? Also the driver updating part of the software is great.... its a smart collection of functions which is dedicated to boosting performance in a specific area and that I believe has not been done yet

Game booster software has existed forever. All they really do is regulate background apps to hopefully free-up resources for your gaming.

Problem is, if you need to free up memory or computing threads for a game, you probably need an upgrade to begin with. These booster only marginally improve performance on systems that already need serious upgrades. If you are rocking relatively mid-high end hardware, these apps are worthless.

People thinking that closing some background apps or other windows programs will increase the performance of their games clearly do not understand at all how Windows works... it is a multitask oriented operating system FFS, the only way to screw it is by installing yourself apps that request to be on the foreground so the PC must ultimately pause the execution of the game to give them hardware resources, people should understand that you have to close them to play games since those kind of apps are the ones you work on when not gaming.

I do hope this thing wil be for free once it goes out of beta, if not it'll be a huge ripoff for whichever price they sell it.

I got into the beta a couple weeks ago. It doesn't make much of a difference all the time, but during a part where a million things are happening in the game, my PC doesn't lag anymore. During big moments, like  the final battle in the Lonely Road DLC for Fallout: New Vegas (for example), my PC would've lagged down, because so much was happening. This solved that. Now, I very rarely experience lag, and that's usually because I'm going through a save-point.

Pc optimization, what a load of crap. Anyone who thinks his games run slower than they should because of 4 or 5 windows services shouldn't play games on PC to begin with. Your operating system isn't the problem, you are. Applications don't install and run themselves, you do.

Hmmm... I used the Iobit Version on a Medium PC, yeah,  all it does is disable services and processes, but sometimes doing that manually and repeatedly can lose anyones patience, so having that simplified with GB, just can give you more time used elsewhere, i think, and the difference can be seen on quite a bunch of games I have tried, but also, if youve got a hardcore current PC, you wont notice any difference...

for those who don't know it will be free, they improved some things and they are in beta stage for now, got it since day one of closed beta and it's a good tool, they bought the license because the old team (don't remember who made it first) wanted to make it subscription based... so it will be free, calm down.

Man.. I'm prepared to buy it if it's worth it.

To all the haters posting how they don't need to use Game Boosters because they "Already do that stuff manually," why don't you link us people who "barely know where the power switch is on their PC," to tutorials about how to optimize their systems? Stop being smarmy jackasses and share the wealth of information.

Until you get down off your pedestals and start sharing your knowledge with the lowly peons, I'm gonna continue to use IObit's Game Booster, and enjoy the FPS bump I get out of it.

I used this back in the day before Razer got ahold of it and it gave minor performance boosts, but nothing I would pay them a subscription fee for.

Also, this is the third time I have seen this posted as a major article. This is hardly newsworthy for even tech specific sites. Funny how something gets the name Razer slapped on it and suddenly gets a headline.

I'll continue to use GB until they slap a subscription fee on it which is likely to happen once it comes out of beta.

i see what's happening here. everyone is falling for the "oh another tune-up utility with the razer logo on it" trick here. it's not a cash grab, it's free. even when it's out of beta it will be free. no bloatware in this app either. you need to create an account so it stores your settings online. i know, not necessary but it's going with their new thing i guess, synapse 2.0 they call it. all your peripheral settings are saved in the cloud so no need to save them locally and worry about backing them up elsewhere and/or losing them.

for those who have tried it out already, yeah all it does is disable services and processes that are not required. this by default, if you are a true gamer, would be done by yourself already. if you've missed some, or can't be bothered to do that fine tuning yourself, then this app actually does a pretty damn good job of it. it's a no non-sense, no bs app. nothing more, nothing less.

so that's what this is. it only takes up 20 MB so that's literally nothing for us gamers. for the hardcore gamer, this is probably useless since what this app does you most likely already have done so, or have no need to due to your system specs. for everyone else, i think this is actually a pretty good app. i would recommend for the regular or casual gamer that hasn't "streamlined" their computer for raw gaming performance, to check out what the app recommends to disable (service/process) and just go ahead and do it yourself anyway. there's a ton of info online to do this too. don't like something disabled, you can turn it back on. man I even configure my work laptops pretty much as if i'm going to game on them to squeeze every bit of power i can. granted i can't disable as many things because they're required for work networks etc. but still, it goes a long way.

Also why the hell is League of Legends related?

This used to be free. I'm sure the full program will be as well. I had a very old .exe of the original GameBooster, and after refusing to update for some years, when I finally grew some patience to update it was suddendly "RAZER's GameBooster".

Seems like Razer is searching new ways to victimize all of us . These programs never work, won't blame them for trying. 

For newer gaming PC's, this won't do anything just like all the gameboosters before it.  It's a cash-grab, Razer marketing at its finest.  

I wouldn't trust Razer to come up with any worthy game application when they can't even handle their own drivers.  Seriously.  Check out their drivers for their gaming keyboards and mouse.  

I use a Razer Deathadder myself, and I still can't turn off the stupid lights on my mouse with the options being there in the application.

i've been using this program here and there for games my laptop cant really handle too well. it gave me 10 more fps on sleeping dogs so its not a bad program, but it did mess up my bluetooth until restart. not a bad program and not a great program

I'd be more impressed to see Steam run like how XBMC can as an environment where it doesn't use ANYTHING extra in ubuntu

so much hate and anger for a free beta program... :S I have never really liked these "tuner programs", mainly because i know how to take care of my computer, and for me, my PC is dedicated to gaming only. The only downloading is for games/updates/drivers. So its already tuned and lean as can be. But for many people that don't know computers, or have multiple users for the same computer, this could be a time saver.

I can see why many people seem to disapprove on this, but why the anger?? It's nice to see a LEGITIMATE program like this that can be trusted, as opposed to all the "spyware" computer booster programs so many people download these days.

...I like my no-cost alternative, that being shutting them down myself. I'm pretty clever, I admit it.

IF you dont like the app, dont download it and move along and hate on another site. EASY!
