Razer Edge Pro preorders shut down after high demand

Wow Really People.  $600, is not too much for a new IPad or IPhone and a new one comes out every year!  Now I will admit, I am going on 48 and my fast paced gaming days are slowing down to more strategic type games, so this pad would probably be the last investment I make into the gaming market.

I Own over 500 games and that is not an exaggeration, which 300 I probably have not even really played.  I have finally crossed into that place in a man's life where I guess we just want a few things and keep it simple!  Don't teach me anything new (even though I do already have windows 8 and love it!

Also think of this, if you are on the go, generally you play on the go games Civilization V, Turn Based Games, BeJeweled or maybe even Infinity Blade 2 (on the plane, in the limo plus think of battery life) don't no body want you sitting next to them all jerking and moving and hollering obscenities .. until you get to where you are going. Take care of your business.  Might Play a quick on the go game while on lunch.  Finish your business for the day, now if you are going to a hotel, would you want to whip out that gaming tablet for most of the hardcore games don't and are not going to support touch screens well any time soon!  Or would you honestly hdmi out to the tv in your hotel room.  Or Are you going to want to set up that gaming laptop on that little cooling stand right on your chest or in your lap, good wireless mouse to the side and some good wireless gaming headphones to still give you that needed surround sound

I have been a gamer since the 70's.  I have been an on the road Technology Instructor for the last 7 years.  I've lived the life.

it would be stupid of anyone to buy the 1000 $ version .... i would do anything to get it but its way to expensive for me :(

This is quite surprising, I wonder if it would work well with 64 gb had space and 1 hr of battery life. Especially now that the standard size of games is 12GB, with the best games being up to 20GB, and the fact that the windows 8 os would take at least 8GB of existing space. So, if u have the 64GB, for example, you'll only have a space of 60 GB to use for gaming (excluding movies, music & more). Is it really worth it?

lol it sounds good but has anyone ever actually owned Razer products before?...pfshh gl on whoever buys this thing........

i like the concept of it and would like to try a hands on if i get a chance... unless that happens i wouldnt feel inclined to get one for myself..

however, the cost is a deterrent.. and i wonder how many pieces had they put up for pre-order !

I can´t understand why people are so mad at this thing. It´s equivalent to a gaming notebook but it´s lighter, more portable and has better controls for gaming. And it costs the same as a gaming notebook of similar specs.

Nobody makes you buy it.

Razer and their overpriced products again... Don't get me wrong, they make quality products, well...while it last anyway. My Razer stuff only lasts from 6mnths to 1year++

$1300 for a tablet? Sorry but that seems a bit out of control. I know almost nothing about PC's and what it takes to have a good one for games, but I was under the impression that you could build your own rig for at least this much without it being a small screen tablet. Go on, laugh at me all you want....

I would be interested in something like this when I next have to upgrade my iPad, but I'm still have will my iPad 2 so that could be a while.

this looks like a good idea...then i think about having to hold this heavy ass controller and screen up to play games. I play games to relax, not work out!

$1,300 PC > $1,300 laptop > Razer Edge Pro

And people complain that Vita is expensive.

Not bad if you actually watch the video and can see what it can do. You'd spend the same or more amount on a all-in-one PC with similar functionality. 

i always hated this thing from the start. a tablet designed to play smartphone games on a larger screen with physical buttons.

if you want physical buttons and a nicely-sized screen, why not get a 170-200 dollar 3DS or Vita instead of dropping over 1000 dollars on this piece of shit?

I also wonder, do you think you'd be able to set it up with a home theater system somehow? I mean, I'm sure for what it is, it has great sound, but it'd be a plus if we could somehow plug it into our home theater system, or better yet, hook it into our TV like a console.

If it was cheaper, I'd be more interested, but at such a price, I even go as far to question the greatness of it and how long it could or will last. It's cool though.

At this point I don't want a portable PC in any form.  Looks cool though.  I love Razer products so we'll see, maybe later.

This seems like the logical evolution of PCs and laptops to me.  You have one system but you can use it in many different ways, such as in tablet mode, with a keyboard, monitor, or TV.  I like the concept.

Eh... I'll probably wait for a full review before buying one.  I would like this for work though as I horribly despise laptops, and can't drag my pc to meetings with me.  I do hate the price tag, but since it has some graphics power I feel it's more justified.  God there's tons of trolls on here, lol.  The damn thing isn't even out yet.
