Rare wheels out Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
Classic platforming franchise swerves onto Xbox 360 with new vehicular theme this November.
It wasn't much of a secret to begin with, but over the weekend, the door blew wide open on Microsoft and Rare's first console installment in the Banjo-Kazooie franchise since the Nintendo 64's heyday. Thanks to a spate of screenshots and leaked details from the June issue of Game Informer, Banjo-Kazooie was presented as a hybrid vehicular platformer in which players will build their own vehicles, though Rare was quick to say the game would be more than just a racer.
Today, Microsoft officially confirmed Rare's Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts for the Xbox 360, saying the game will arrive this November. Games mimicking life, Nuts & Bolts is set eight years after the last console edition in the series--2000's Banjo-Tooie for the N64--and Banjo along with his Breegull counterpart take up with shaman-turned-mechanic Mumbo Jumbo.
Nuts & Bolts places a strong emphasis on vehicle creation. A ranging assortment of parts will be available for players to tinker with, and gamers will be able to take their creations online to both show off and compete in multiplayer races over Xbox Live. The single-player experience offers six themed worlds to explore, and will incorporate the series' signature platforming in addition to--yes--racing elements.
