Rambo reloading on consoles, PC - Report
Reef Entertainment inks deal with film company StudioCanal to produce "triple-A" games for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC based on Sylvester Stallone series.
Fictional action hero John Rambo hasn't had his own video game since 1989's Rambo III, but no man, no law, and no war can stop the gun-toter from fighting back onto the scene.
According to MCV, Reef Entertainment has inked a deal with film company StudioCanal to develop a new Rambo game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
The website is reporting that Reef outbid other offers to secure the rights to make multiple games based on the Sylvester Stallone-led movies.
Concrete details about the first new Rambo game are not available. However, Reef creative director Craig Lewis told the website that the new title will be of "triple-A" quality and will "capture the gritty atmosphere and full-on action which made the Rambo movies so successful."
sweet, I hope this it still in development or about to be released or something
OMG COOL
actual there was a Rambo on rails shooter that came out couple of years ago in arcades.
As a Rambo fan, I never really like the games, only the movies. Often movie based property that got turn into a game is never a good thing unless if the ppl making the game put some hard works into it.
It needs a high buguet game but if shoot em up they need do put differnent not just like far cry so if you cant do it leave the game
Now we just miss a Charlie Chaplin game...
They had better not F*ck this one up. NOBODY F*cks around with Rambo.
They want to make it a 'Triple A game' and capture the 'Gritty feeling' .................... ANOTHER FPS?
Love the movies, just don't mess it up and batch the crap out of it ok?
I hope this turns out like Golden Eye 64 or Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butchers Bay, the only two games that surpass their movie counterpart.
Oh yeah game like mercenary series will be good. Third person action game with looooooot of weapons....... and Rambo style of course.
I hope it continues the 80's Rambo and not the older Rambo. Or update it and make him younger and send him after Al Queda.
I love the films especially First Blood that's such a classic but it's just like with Hollywood making games to film and ruining them, I hate when it's the other way around aswell. I hope they don't ruin the Rambo name at all but they probably will.
Run and gun, Extreme!!!
I loved the last Rambo movie, especially the part where the guy got his guts riped out :)
As long as it has the NES version included as an extra, I'll be happy. The remake is probably gunna be a trainwreck.
I hope they develop a proper action game..
@AloeVera: And you don't live your life as a military operative. Why the hell would you want to play a videogame as one? You should only play games that reflect what you are in real life, so stick to Super Virgin Nerd 3.
as long as it's FPS
Great, i love Rambo
loves all rambo games. played them since atari.
They should made the racing genre, Rambo kart sounds good :P
I swear AAA is just thrown around like peanuts nowadays.. I very much doubt it will be that good.. Just my opinion..
You don't live your life in third person!!! Why the hell would you want to play a video game as one???? TPS SUCKS!!!! FPS! FPS! FPS! FPS!
This game will include Subtitles, right?
Sweet! Make them rated M for mature please and bloody like the last movie
FPS? Please no. A TPS will be much better for capturing the Rambo experience.
"It's a Long road..."
You don't have to aim to kill! Bullets will always miss Rambo! One man Army! By the way, Rambo First Blood was a novel before a movie.
another FPS ...............
Or make the Rambo game like that Punisher game from 2005 then I would certainly cry man tears.
They should make this a stealth game, but it will probably be another fps.
Another clunky shooter i bet getting sales only because of its name. *cough* Call of duty *cough*
As long as its now based on "Son of Rambow" then this Rambo game should be fantastic.
A Far Cry 2 - like would be an option :)
will be crap
Yeah!Rambo FTW!Alright...check this out:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwlQ0qJxaGo
will this game come with a translator so we can understand him.
This could be interesting. I've only played two Rambo games, the first was Rambo First Blood Part 2 on the Commodore 64, and the other was Rambo III on the Sega Mega Drive.
I hope it's Rambo in his Nam day's with the rest of his squad and Troutman
If done rite this could b a great game.
I smell a big face plant in the near future.:D
lol no
I would be excited - Rebellion. Which just MIGHT be selected to develop this game. I fear for Rambo, even if he has little fear for himself.
"Heeey Wolfface, Im yer worse Nightmare, Your ass is mine" X-D loved Rambo in the Green Jelly video Three Little Pigs.
this is the new call of duty :)
wish they would release the newer rambo arcade on consoles
Rambo is the Asian Bogyman
how about something like contra
If I were to make this Rambo game, I'd do these: 1. Although a GTA open city style of game is attractive, I'd rather have high quality stages for Rambo to roam around in. 2. The individual stages will vary in size depending on what the mission is about. You will be able to use the environment to kill enemies. You'll even be able to use animals to distract them, such as throwing a chicken into the air to scare the bad guys, and then slitting their throat from behind. You'll also be able to grab snakes and throw them on unsuspecting enemies to get them killed. 3. Rambo is a smart guy who knows how to make traps. In each mission, you'll be able to assemble traps from materials that you can find around. You will be able to collect bamboo, sharpen them, and throw them as spears, or use them as a death trap to impale bad guys when they fall into a hole. 4. Aside from improvised weapons and traps, Rambo will also be able to destroy enemies using hand to hand combat. The combat mechanics will be similar to the new Batman games for its simplicity, but you'll be able to grab your opponent this time and have a lot of options on how to break his bones, slit his throat, smash him against walls or boiling pots, and more! 5. For the story, I'd rather have an original one. It doesn't have to follow any of the movies directly. The important thing is to have an entertaining badass story where Rambo can be himself and blow up lots of stuff and kill the bad guys in amusingly brutal ways.
