Ubisoft announces Copernicus Conspiracy add-on will be offered free to purchasers of upcoming action adventure on Sony's console.
Sony has been heavily courting potential purchasers of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood by securing desirable exclusives for the PlayStation 3 version of the game. The first of these perks involved a PS3-exclusive beta-testing phase, which offered the first public look at Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood's all-new multiplayer component. The next will involve a batch of post-release downloadable content.
Today, Ubisoft announced that PS3 purchasers of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will receive complimentary access to the system-exclusive Copernicus Conspiracy add-on pack. The Copernicus Conspiracy add-on will be available for download through the PlayStation Network on the same day that Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood hits retail shelves--November 16.
The Copernicus Conspiracy DLC will focus on the titular Renaissance-era astronomer who first advocated that the earth revolves around the sun. As such, Ezio has been charged with defending Copernicus from those who wish to bury his theories--and the man himself--engaging in missions that include courier, assassination, and protection missions.

People its not free because of the PS3. Its free because EA is awesome. The DLC being a PS3 exclusive is just a bonus. Praise PS3 and Praise EA!
well lets see PS3 can have 1 or 2, xbox 360 can have 100, hmmm i wonder what console wins ALWAYS on the DLC side of things :P
Is this another Mafia 2 situation where the PS3 got exclusive DLC because it received the worst version of the game?
brill finally some love for ps3 and thos who think its on fair then tuf after all ps3 fans hat to wait a year or so for fallout 3 dlc and now fallout las vegas has exclusive dlc for xbox and ps3 fans hat to wait a year for dlc for gta4 dlc so xbox fans go cry to ur mummys or buy an ps3 other wise suck it up ac brotherhood is better on ps3 and before u lot say i got both ps3 and xbox360 and i got ac1,2 for both consoles and ac looks better for ps3 so hahahah xbox and i played the beta and this game is amazing
Wow, because this trashy spinoff didn't already give me enough reasons to not be interested, and Ubisoft didn't already give me enough reasons to boycott them? Now they're adding this to the repertoire? Between the 'you need to be online' crap and now console-exclusive DLC, I'm wondering if Ubisoft had some change of management that I didn't hear about. This is the most rapid succession of shark-jumps I've seen in a while.
The GTA IV side games eventually came to the PS3, so maybe this DLC will eventually come to the 360. But in any case, I agree with those who say this is unfair. I wholeheartedly support exclusive games, because if every single game ever released were for both 360 and PS3, why would I buy a PS3 when I already have the 360 or vice versa? But exclusive DLC is wrong and not the kind of thing that will make someone run out and buy a PS3 just to play it.
UBISOFT and Microsoft are the worst things that i ever saw, first off all microsoft did it twice with their games first with that horror game (forgot the name because i hate them-microsoft) and then with fable 3- first they canceled the pc version after saying that they will release it on both pc and xbox and now they will probably do it again with fable that will be released don't know when....UBISOFT dit it with assassin's creed 2 by adding that stupid thing that lets you play only online even if it is a single game and ofcorse they delayed the pc version, now they delayed ac-brotherhood (and ofcorse stupid me preordered it before i saw that the pc version was delayed)
I hate games who do that. You either go exclusive, or you're equal to both consoles -- don't make one version better than the other. I won't be getting AC: Brotherhood out of spite.
ps3 better than xbox, i got both but ultimately ps3 has my attention, only got xbox for halo and fable. and a few other exclusives that might be nocking about.
ubisofts favorite systems. 1. ps3 (they got the beta and this.) 2. 3. 4. PC (late release date every time, but they always get DLCS 5. Xbox (dont get DLC or beta)
on the day of game release? meaning that they planed this to be game content and then said "wait lets make this dlc.. just for the kick"
zzamaro Posted Nov 3, 2010 6:15 pm CT And yesterday Microsoft said one of the reasons LIVE got more expensive is because of exclusive(timed) DLC and we PS3(I also have an X360) owners get Exclusive and Free DLC without having to pay any single penny. ! ! ! hell ye aint that the truth!!!! all hail the mighty ps3
Great. When one company is forced to deny products a portion of its would-be customers in order to make another company more money, everybody wins.
@drummerdickens blame second hand shops for that. Game companies are trying to get people to buy new because shops are killing their profit selling second hand games for £5 less and people buy them meaning no money for the creators. Sometimes i think shops should be forced to put a percentage of their profit back to the games designers but im not sure where i stand on this. I know second hand games are far too expensive thoguh and cant believe people pay that much for them.
This is a good sign for the PS3. While the 360 is sort of languishing, the PS3 is continuing to gain traction. And, at the same time, they're not tossing the cost onto their customers. Basically the future of the PS3 is looking good and the future of the 360 is unsure.
As an avid 360 player.....Good for you Sony!Keep having things like this happen and I will happily dust off the ps3 and play it more often. Stuff like this can only be good for gamers who want great experiences on all levels and all platforms.

@Ultraviolence lol take that Activision. In all seriousness though, yes, I do completely agree with your comment there.
Well I am unhappy about this being PS3 exclusive because I am a huge AC fan and it obvesouly will not appear on my 360.However I am prevented from being super upset because the 360 had been getting most of the special deals for a very long time up until this year so with reguards to fairness I will remain calm. I suppose it is Sony's turn to have some of the specials. Hopefully it will get to a point where both systems can have specials.
@kavadias1981 Agreed, but unfortunately there must be a decent proportion of paying consumers who actually support DLC purchases which drop soon after a game is actually released. I've been guilty of buying DLC in this manner as well - I think Dante's Inferno was one such title, and perhaps Dragon's Age. I can't recall. Developers know that historically there's likely a sufficient target audience for certain top-tier titles that would warrant such DLC releases... The fact that this is actually *free* is a good thing. Be thankful it's from Ubisoft and not Activi$ion....
@Ultraviolence Yes I know. That is why I said "Originally, it was a welcome way to extend a game, long after its release, but now developers are clearly abusing its purpose". I love the addition of DLC at some point AFTER a game has been released. It is when the DLC is developed at the same time as the full game, and is then released seperately at the same time or not long after it. This clearly shows that it could have been included in the finished product but they chose to release it seperately. Now I wonder why the cheeky buggers do that?
@kavadias1981 "This DLC thing is getting out of hand"??? How can you complain about this. You'd rather see developers not offering any way to extend their games lifespan, to those people who would willingly pay for additional content that they consider to be a "value-add"? Gimme a break. DLC is absolutely serving it's purpose to those who are interested in extending the lifespan of a given title. If you don't want it, don't buy it. Simple.
I'm willing to bet any money that the DLC will be released on XBL later on down the road (sometime during the 1Q of 2011 would be my guess) just like the Fallout: New Vegas DLC will hit the PSN much later on after the "exclusive" DLC for it hits XBL.
@my_chem_fan0 No no, I know that. Trust me, I read every report quite thoroughly. I just didn't feel commenting on it and instead used it as an opportunity to share an opinion on a related matter. That's all.
@Kavadias I understand what you are saying, but this time that isn't the point as the DLC will be free, as shown by the first sentence of the second paragraph.
