Project M morphs into Moon
Latest DS offering from Dementium team Renegade Kid is officially named, billed as a "menacing" sci-fi game.
Renegade Kid's next project had so far only been codenamed as Project M, but today the company revealed the proper name: Moon.
Moon will be Renegade Kid's first DS project after Dementium: The Ward, which brought all the fun of the survival-horror genre to the handheld.
The new game promises more of the same creepiness seen in Dementium, and will be a sci-fi action adventure set on the moon. It's the year 2058, and researchers working on the lunar surface discover evidence of alien life as they are constructing a space base.
Mastiff (of Major League Eating: The Game fame) will be publishing Moon, which does not yet have an expected time of arrival. Bill Swartz, the self-titled "head woof" at Mastiff, commented, "Moon is dark, twisted, heart-pounding, frequently violent, and always disturbing."
The game will use the same 3D engine the team used to create Dementium: The Ward.
ahh, i love renegade kid already bringing more mature, fun titles to the DS. we could use more games like this..
I have been hearing about respawning NPCs from Dementium: The Ward. I hope that they will fix this issue. On last week's On the Spot Jools from Renegade Kid even said that they have used the new version of the Renegade Engine to integrate vehicular travel/combat...I am interested to see how that will pan out. :D
This looks like a worthwhile addition to my DS library. I'll check it out.
If this game is anything like Dementium: The Ward it should be a good time, especially if they all out on the sound FX (play D:TW in the dark with headphones on...oh so very cool). I just hope they DON'T repeat the save system, which was like a dagger to the soul. @dwmorrow: Why did they mention MLE license? Think of it like Canada: Yeah they've given the world a lot of great entertainers and bands, but in the end Canada is responsible for Celine Deon and Bryan Adams... m(-_-)m Sorry, I couldn't resist.....
so long as the controls arent $#!+
WoW the Survival Horror genre is getting really popular lately, they def need to bring more games like this to all consoles, but I cant wait to see this on the DS. cant wati !
Blech. Too bad they aren't putting out the *real* Moon, which was a rather cute sendup of the classic CRPG that had you as a third party watching the 'Hero' going around looting people's houses and slaughtering forest creatures...
Lest people unfamilar with Mastiff think that the only notch on their belt is an as-of-yet unreleased game about competitive eating, Mastiff has also published gems such as La Pucelle and Gungrave: Overdose. Why Gamespot chose to single out Major League Eating, I'm not sure.
Definetly need more M games for the DS, although Dementium overall wasn't that good. Hope they can do better with Moon.
I liked the look of the trailer on OTS. The engine they created for Dementium Ward was pretty amazing considering the DS specs, and to think it has even been improved makes me very positive about this. I look forward to seeing some gameplay footage of the real engine at work. It looks like a game that will appeal to the supposed hardcore crowd, as much as Ninja Gaiden DS wil.l
Awesome, glad to see something good from the Dev team.
Handhelds desperately need more games like this.
One of the only games that actually have a * chills * factor has been dementium. Glad to see another title in the works from the dev team
