Pokemon Colosseum developer releasing augmented-reality RPG for 3DS

An upcoming game will let players scan surroundings and recruit tiny people to fight a demon king.

The 3DS features augmented-reality technology that lets players have a live view of the real world through the device's camera and have onscreen elements augmented by whatever titles support the feature. Genius Sonority, the developer behind the slew of Pokemon Colosseum games, recently announced a new title up for grabs on the Japanese 3DS eShop: an RPG called Denpa Ningen (translated as "radio-wave people").

The RPG requires players to scan their real-life surroundings and use the game's augmented-reality feature to make tiny radio-wave people show up onscreen. Here, players will have to recruit a party to explore in-game dungeons and defeat enemies in turn-based combat. Each character will have unique skills that players can use in battle.

The game will be available in Japan as an eShop download for 800 yen (A$10) on February 8. A demo will be available on February 1 and is limited to 30 plays.

Make a 3DS version of a Pokemon game. Even if they remake Pokemon White/Black with updated graphics and change the camera view to third person behind the character. And if they did voice I guarantee the Pokemon game will sell more than any other game on handheld. They should read these blogs . Everybody want them to do a Pokemon gray or maybe a Pokemon Brown or any new one or any old one completely remade from scathes.

I'm sorry but this sounds like another crappy game for Japanese people tastes only.
Make Pokemon Gray/Grey for the 3DS and you shall become rich.

The idea sounds awesome, I just want to see some feedback as to how it actually plays.

This game sounds interesting and all, yes, but I'd personally rather Pokemon Colosseum 3DS. I hope that I'm not the only one thinking it.

Maybe they should reconsider remaking all pokemon games into 1 single RPG games on all platforms. Gotta catch them all!

@ dxdevilex0 They're lucky on some things, but if you're strapped for cash, it's awful. Try purchasing beef jerky, visual novels, manga, DVD's, etc. and you'll see what I mean. It's a lot cheaper to just import things from the states via an online distributor. About the only thing cheaper there in comparison to the U.S. is fish and rice.

Hmm...well, I guess it would be cool if someone found a way to tie in-game challenges to real world locations. Like, say, if you go to certain subway stations, rare monsters leap onto the screen or posters act as treasure chests. Of course, that would mean gamers would have to go outside, heh.

As a huge Pokémon fan, I can tell you not to listen to Pixel-Perfect and be really excited for this new game. Colosseum was a decent game, but like all first attempts from new developers, it had room for improvement, and Gale of Darkness bought that improvement in spades. And the only reason people disliked Battle Revolution is because they expected it to be something it was never promised to be. Not really the developer's fault that people got hyped for features that were never promised, is it? Of course not.

But yeah, Genius Sonority is actually pretty good and I hope we get a chance to try this game in other regions.

As a huge Pokemon fan, I can tell you that a game developed by Genius Sonority is nothing to get excited about.
