@edgewalker16 I apologize for being so brash. However, they did already release Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen for the GBA. They recently did HeartGold and SoulSilver. Unfortunately, with the current trend, the next up is going to be Ruby and Sapphire. A remake of Red/Blue/Green/Yellow generation is highly unlikely at this point. The best you can hope for right now is a virtual console release of the originals on the 3DS. You know what might be cool? If they made a 3D Classics out of it. :D
GameFreak director Junichi Masuda says "very important announcement" to be made during Japanese television show this weekend.
Gamers keen on catching all the Pokemon news should plan to be around this weekend. GameFreak director Januchi Masuda wrote today on his website that he will appear on Japan's Pokemon Smash! television show this weekend to make a "very important announcement."
The show airs at 7:30 a.m. in Japan on Sunday, February 26, which for stateside gamers is 2:30 p.m. PT / 5:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, February 25.
Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, which shipped during March 2011 and went on to combine for sales of over 11 million, are the most recent installments in the core franchise. For more on those titles, check out GameSpot's reviews of Pokemon Black and White.
this crap is still around? admitedly i'm young enough to have grew up with the first generation of pokemon, but really...let a series die already. or rehash it maybe. but pokemon isn't pokemon anymore. its some...mutated offspring. pikachu and syther should NEVER have mated.
Just had to make a video talking about this. Pretty psyched all in all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STfxvA7j_U8
I think its because of sales maybe?, there are 151 million DS systems and there are only 16 million 3DS systems.
It will release for the normal DS in June 2012, but i think that release date will be in Japan only.
please god give us a pokemon version for the Wii U or some crap with active battles and full exploration across all regions.
Hasn't the show already aired? Unless I calculated my time zones wrong, it should have. What was the announcement?
pokelanders! now you'll be able to bring all 500+ pokemon to life! still shocked how they haven't pulled a skylanders yet they would be making ten times more they already do kids would eat up that up and even some adults lol.
@Danu_06 It's not a 3DS game, its a DS game. You can still play it on the 3DS. Why would they make another one if its already on the DS?
It won't be a continuation like Grey, they'd save that kinda announcement for E3. It could be a remake or something else completely new though, kinda like their GameCube/N64 Pokemon games. Not sure if theres any for the Wii.
I'm thinking R/S remakes or Grey. Either way, this will give me an excuse to finally get a 3DS, even if they're not 3DS exclusives :D
@xXl_z3r0_lXx Ash is still on the show? I stop watching the show back in 2005 and came to think they might of switched the main character to some other no name character.
How about a Pokémon game that includes every existing Pokémon in it that doesn't require trading or special events to get them all, includes every key item from the current and previous games (like the VS seeker, for example), has real, in-depth stats displayed in the game (including all of the hidden stats), and actually changes up the story a bit more than simply changing the names of every person and location. Too bad it'll never happen.
I'm hoping it's Pokemon Grey which is an updated version of Black and White for 3DS designed to fully integrate Nintendo Network and Street Pass. For NN, I want a proper online battle system. Matchmaking, full team rosters, the ability to pick between various rulesets in random matchmaking, etc. As for Street Pass, it'd be really cool if there was a way to start a battle with the people in you immediate vicinity regardless of whether or not you have your cartridge with you. Imagine a small app that you installed to your 3DS that stored a battle team that you could use to battle anyone with a 3DS who also happened to have the app installed.
If they make a version called "The awesome 90´s" with all the pokemons of the 1st and 2nd generations, and Wifi trading/battles. I would buy a 3DS. If it is a Pokemon Gray... welcome PSVita.
Considering the cycle of Pokemon revamps ruby and sapphire are due for a serious overhaul on the 3DS. At leas thats my best guess. My second guess is pokemon Gray for the 3DS. what ever they do they can't avoid the 3DS forever. @duckafro I wish that was really but sadly I doubt it would happen
@edgewalker16 I WOULD LOVE THAT (if they included yellow in this) @Roger01 I would buy this and a 3ds as long as they stick to the original game's pokemon and just added Wireless/WiFi Trading and battles. @Warhawk613 you'd think after all these years ash would be like, 20 something, instead of aging back down from 10 in the original to 8 in the new season.
I'm hoping for a WiiU Pokemon game, but with a style more like the handheld Pokemon games rather than the Pokemon Coliseum style.
