Played the SOCOM 4 demo last night... liking it so far. I know it is still technically beta, but, I do like Battlefield BC and Medal of Honor online better at this point. SOCOM will still be a good one though.
PlayStation Store Update: Red Faction Battlegrounds, SOCOM 4 demo
New digital wares for Sony's virtual storefront include THQ's vehicular mayhem game and StarDrone for PS3 hub; sampler for Zipper's new shooter and Stacking DLC also now out.
Sony welcomes the first full week of April with new content ranging from a vehicular-based Red Faction tie-in to a sampler for Zipper Interactive's contemporary shooter.
Leading the pack this week for the PlayStation 3 is THQ's Red Faction: Battlegrounds ($10). The game is a multiplayer-oriented, top-down, vehicle-based arena combat game. It is also offered as a preorder bonus for those who secure a copy of the upcoming Red Faction: Armageddon.
The other new game out for the PS3 now is StarDrone ($8). The game is billed as a "high-speed action thriller" that is a mix of pinball/brick breaking. The game boasts over 50 distinct levels, and it also is compatible with Sony's Move controller.
Gamers looking to add to their copy of Double Fine's Stacking can grab The Lost Hobo King ($5) downloadable content today. The Lost Hobo King continues the story of chimney sweeper Charlie Blackmore, who in the original game set out to rescue his family from The Baron, a nefarious industrialist. The new storyline sees Charlie venturing to the hobo kingdom of Camelfoot, where he hopes to assist his friend Levi in securing the hobo crown for his uncle, Rufus.
Also out now on the PlayStation Network is a multiplayer demo for SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs. The sampler lets gamers enlist in the action as either a Special Forces agent or a member of the Insurgency. The trial offers gamers a look at two of the game's environments and several game types.
A full list of the week's deals and new PlayStation Store content, including themes, wallpapers, demos, discounts, and add-on content, is available on the PlayStation Blog.
