Gyakuten Saiban is a great game! It is a special experience as a lawyer and detective. Hope the English version will also be a great success.
Hard-to-find courtroom DS game being restocked in retail; Capcom says decision was made based on "demand."
Gamers and lawyers don't always have the best relationships. However, one barrister appears to have won the affection of DS owners enough to see him get a second chance in stores. Capcom's Phoenix Wright enjoyed a short stint in retail before its stock ran low and its supply wasn't replenished. Some gamers screamed "objection!" at the lack of copies of the game, which was first released on the DS in October.
Supply and demand can do tricky things to a game's price, and soon the game began appearing on online auction sites with a price tag nearly triple the $29.99 SRP.
Much to the chagrin of secondhand retailers, Capcom has responded to gamers' appeals and decided to bring Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney back to stores. A Capcom representative today told GameSpot that the company is shipping more units and that gamers "interested in purchasing a copy should check with their store," implying that Internet reports that the game is now back in stores are true.
As of press time, online retailers EBgames.com and GameStop.com did not have the game in stock. However, some forum posters have claimed to see the game in stores again as well as on online retail site NCS for $35.
In Phoenix Wright, gamers investigate crime scenes and defend clients in the courtroom. For more information on the T-for-Teen-rated game, read GameSpot's verdict.
Well, I paid $40 for it online and it was still TOTALLY worth it... not to mention I can resell it when I'm done and get most, if not all, of my money back!
It's June 26th and it's still out of stock. They're on batch #3 which is supposed to come out mid-August.
wish they would send another wave soon...finally getting ds when ds lit comes out and i want the game, but not a ebay auction prices.
funny story. i got phonix wright after it had been cancelled for regular pricew and i didnt even realize it was rare. i walked right into the first gamestop i came across and bought it and luved it. Only later did i learn it got cancelled and ppl were buying it for lots of money. glad to see it back in stores!
Oh Capcom, try not to make the same mistake on the European release. Yep, we're still waiting for the FIRST publishing wave over here. That's why I bought an American copy. Poor Americans :p
Good! That game deserves to be sold. I am going to buy the game as soon as I get money and other games first.
I saw it listed on Amazon by sellers for 66$ -69$ ; a bit pricey! Hope they get it back in stores soon
well this is good i was planing to get it tho i wont but this is still good news since i might get it later on
I'm THRILLED. Thank you, Capcom!! I'm so happy this game is being given a chance that so few games really get. Congrats to the letter writting campaign, too! Looks like it worked!! I'm SO happy! ^_^ Now I just need to convince my friends to go get it. XD
I never picked it up before because it's soo short, but seeing the popularity and how Capcom took notice, I might need to rethink buying this game. Thx, Capcom.
Awesome! It is well deserved! The game was great! Hopefully this means there will be a sequel as well.
Capcom you know what this demand means? It means potential sales and the growth of fanbase for the sequels. *hint hint*
Game are selling slower and slower these days but at a pretty steady clip. Retailers and game companies should be wary which titles they pull off the shelf prematurely. And lets be honest, we are far enough along into the current generation of systems to get that price point to the sub 50's and 40's for new games. Talk about an industry stimulator.
I already have this, and yet I can't help but be happy after hearing about this. NOW LET'S GET #2 AND #3!!! Whooooooooooooooop Capcooooooooooooom
is it just me... or does anyone else feel like they need to go buy this game even though they had no previous desire for it?
That's the power of word-of-mouth, folks. Thank you, Capcom, for re-releasing this gem! The possibility of getting the other games over here now seems more likely than before.
It's nice to see a publisher actually responding to a demand. Too many times when a good game gets a small run and becomes in demand the publisher does nothing about it and the only people who benefit are eBay sellers and second hand stores. Nintendo just rereleased Mario DDR after it had basically sold out of its run in just a few months, and now Capcom finally rereleases Phoenix Wright. Hopefully this is the start of a trend. When a game is good, the developer and publisher should be the ones repeaping the rewards, not used game stores.
Well, CRAPCOM, you just made my day. i am going to attempt to get the game here, but I live in the freaking sticks and there's no way I'd be getting it without a trip to BB. Oh well, now I can get this, SPP, and Tetris DS next week. BJ
dang i didnt kno it was THAT popular. hope i can get a copy before it sells out... AGAIN! who would win in a court room battle - Pheonix Wright or Jack Thompson? PHEONIX of COURSE! DAAAAAS RIAAAAGHT!
