Majesco bringing undead-caretaker sim and photo-enabled 3D racer to Nintendo's new handheld later this year.
Tomorrow, Nintendo will host an all-day media event devoted to its upcoming handheld, the 3DS, and it is believed that the publisher will announce the device's specific US launch plans. Preempting that event, Majesco delivered 3DS news of its own, announcing that Pet Zombies in 3D and Face Kart: Photo Finish will be available exclusively for the glasses-free 3D-enabled handheld this fall.
As a counterpoint to Nintendo's own Nintendogs + Cats, Pet Zombies in 3D lets gamers tend and train their very own brain-gorging undead. In development at 1st Playable Productions, Pet Zombies charges gamers with looking after (or tormenting) their moribund human pets by dictating their diet, cleanliness, and activities.
Locations in Pet Zombies range from cemeteries to run-down military bases, and gamers can customize these environments with objects, backdrops, and music. Customization options also extended to the zombies themselves, altering their bodily disfigurements, degree of decay, and clothing.
Renegade Kid, which is itself known for horror titles such as Dementium: The Ward, will be lending another kart racer to the 3DS library. Titled Face Kart: Photo Finish, the 3D-enabled racer lets gamers photograph themselves and then paste the product onto an in-game avatar. Face Kart features 20 different tracks, and gamers can further customize their in-game appearance, choosing from hair, clothing, and eyewear.

I have no real comment on this till these games have hand-on reviews or actually reviews on them. Though I must say the zombie pet thing, if its graphics are anywhere near as good as the Nintendog+cats, it just might appeal to the few people who didnt get Nintendog+cats because of the lack of zombies. But the face kart game? eh why not just use the Mii's?
@Hillsy_ Heck yes ....... (who says heck yes???)...ahem anyway ...... A Dementium re-make would have been awesome to see on the 3DS. I mean it has all the right story board applications to be a 3D style game, but I guess that's what happens when you wanna push 1st gen crap to the masses.
Face karts, when it is up against the likes of Mario Kart??? Nope. Pet Zombies? Who are they trying to appeal to? Kiddies or Zombie fans, neither in my book, fail. or they could do something which may have been good such as Dementium The Ward 3 on the 3DS. I know which one I would have taken. I don't need to judge, I think this has failure written all over it already without my intervention.
Guys, don't judge! It's all in the game's execution. Do I have to remind you how awesome Team Buddies was? Or how people were skeptical about Heavy Rain prior to release? You never know until you try it! ... ... *Thinks over the idea of having Zombie Pets one more time* **** it, I'm trying to keep an open mind about this, I really am but it's just not worth it!
Hm... you know normally pet sims are straight-up retarded. This actually sounds mildly entertaining though! I really hope you can take photos like this kart game for the zombies. I would love to zombify my friends and family and just put a bullet through their head. Morbid? yes? entertaining? Also yes.

I want to try one before I make up my decision to buy it or not. The 3ds seems like a cool idea though.
I would have prefered that they came out with both a 3ds and a 3dsxl. I think I'd prefer the larger screen for 3d viewing. it might come out, but it'll be a while.
I really didn't want to get a 3DS. These games don't help, either. Pet Zombies sounds ridiculously stupid, and Face Kart? But since Square-Enix has been dropping hints about a FF6 reboot on 3DS similar to FF4 on DS, my hand's been forced ;_;
I kind of wish people will stop the "3DS Lite XL" jokes. This system is pretty small to begin with so why make it smaller? And even if there is a bigger version, how will that ruin anything? Personally I prefer the DSi over the DSi XL, but the bigger one is just an option. Most people may need a bigger screen to enjoy it. Other than that, I am looking forward to more 3DS news!
Just wait 6 months after release and you can get the 4DS, that takes you into the game, and then 6 months after that, the 4DS Lite XL. Now, I enjoy my DS, but I don't enjoy feeling like Nintendo is going to throw a curve ball every time a want to make a purchase.
